Hello,
I've read from one of the replies that the site you're referring to is GetaFreelancer.com (please correct me if I'm wrong). If you are indeed referring to GetaFreelancer, then I feel part of your initial thread is a bit misleading. Here's why:
- You DO have to pay a fee every time a client pays you for a job ($5 per project).
- The only way you can avoid that fee is to upgrade to Gold Member status by paying $10 a month.
Also, have YOU earned more than $500 a month on GetaFreelancer?
GetaFreelancer has a very good referral program and I can understand why you'd want to take advantage of that. Nothing wrong with that at all. However, I do think it would have been better for everyone all round if you told the whole truth so that people could make up their own minds as to whether they'd like to join or not. For e.g., I wrote a review of GetaFreelancer on my blog from my own personal experience of using it. It didn't glorify them - just told it from my point of view - and I got 2 referrals. One was active and earned me $71. Not much, but I'm just showing that you don't have to mislead people into joining. Just tell it like you see it.
take care...

Hi,
I hear you, but I do feel you gave out the impression that this is a site that people can join without parting with any money. Whether it's a fee or a deduction, free membership or gold, $10 or $12, it is money being taken. You also do not point out that a member will need to have a minimum of $30 in their account before requesting payment.
Maybe 'misleading' isn't the word. Maybe 'being selective with what you disclose' is.
If I knew that $5 would be deducted from every project I secured, I'd give some thought to whether I wanted to join or not. If I knew that in order to avoid a deduction, I'd have to pay a monthly fee, that would be food for thought. I'm not saying I wouldn't join, but it's the kind of information I'd want to know before joining. That kinda of info is important, don't you think?

I can see that we can possibly keep on going back and forth with this discussion. I'd rather not. So, let's just agree to disagree.

Look if we earn money with out any investment is that mean we are paying. What I am trying to say is that people join there free of cost and they earn ya? AND they use the same money as charge or u call it deduction. What I am trying to say first earn as a free member and later as soon as we earn we can be gold member than does that mean we are using our own money.HUH?
