I don't know if this is a world wide concoction, but here on the east coast of the USA this mixture is very popular. It is the most delicious thing i have every tasted. Everyone rave about rootbeer floats. This particular float, parfait or whatever you want to call it, is incredible. I think it is better than milkshakes! If you haven't tried it you should.
