I'm an English teacher here looking for help....

I'm very upset recently because some of the children don't want to study english and they want to go away,because we're an training school,they have rights to choose to stay or leave,my superior blames to for that,how can I manage to persuade them that english is an useful language that will effect their lives in the future,can you help me??

Well it depends where are you from, if you live in a country with the native language- English or in a country where only a few people understand English. If you live in the 2nd type of country, than I would suggest a simple explanation to the kids that a lot of literature is in English and most of the movies around the world are in English as well as most websites and games and whatever they are interested in, English is a universal language, almost all around the world people learn English just to go abroad and communicate. if you put it simple they should understand and listen to you and they should start coming to your lessons. I don`t mean to offend, but maybe the language is the problem, maybe the kids don`t like you or the way you teach (I am sorry if that is not true, i can`t judge people without talking to them and I really don`t know you, but that might also be the problem)

I appreciate for your words,you're right and you remind me of my way of teaching,yes,teaching should be simple and easily understanding and it seems I still have some problem to get there.....,I need to pay attention to how much they can learn and how much I can make teaching period more simple and effective......sometimes I'm asked to make some english games in class what I'm not good at,so I looked for some kinds of games used in class instead of thinking about improving my teaching methods......I was doing the wrong thing, or,I'm not qualified to be a teacher......,I was confident at first and I thought teaching should be fun but not just focus on understanding....what an idiot! Thanks you again for your reply,I'll start to do this in the right way

The teaching system should be fun and entertaining, but you have to do it the right way, so that the students will actually learn :) good luck on your way to knowledge and putting knowledge in to others :)
