Hi my friends,
I am here to seek for some advices or suggestions, you can also share with me your experience.
My breastfed baby was ok with the bottle before, but he refused to be fed by bottle from third month on. He is now four-month-old. He does not want to be fed by bottle anymore without any reason. Well..we could not find out why...
Therefore, i always have to be there for my son whenever he wants to be fed. It is a bit not convenient for me as sometimes i will be away from home and more importantly, i will go back to college soon in one month time. I am worried he will not get enough milk when i am in the college, since he refuses to take all the milk from the bottle.
It is very difficult to get him to the bottle, we only could feed him about 30-40ml each time by bottle when he is awake. After that, he will cry as loud as he can and does not want to take anymore from the bottle. Even we force him to drink from the bottle, he just plays the nipple or spit it out.
What can we do in this situation?? My son needs more milk than 30 or 40ml. His weight is not that ideal, abit underweight at the moment. It was not like this before (when we can feed him by bottle). By the way, we feed him the breastmilk even we give the bottle.
Has anyone gone through this?? How did you get your kid back to the bottle??
Have a nice day!!!!

Hi there, has your baby accepted bottle feeding by now?
Getting a feeding bottle that is more 'nipple-like' is important, I suppose, so that the baby can easily adapt to the feeding bottle. You can keep trying patiently to let him accept the bottle. My mother-in-law tried a few times before my baby accepted the bottle, just before I went back to work from my maternity leave. I was glad it didn't take him long time to change.
If your baby still doesn't accept the bottle, perhaps you can ask others to feed him with spoon when you are not around. It's troublesome, but it's an alternative. That's what my mother-in-law told me she might go and use if my baby still refused the feeding bottle.
Have a nice day!

Hi, kaka.
So far my baby does not accept the bottle feeding completely. It is always depending on his mood. Sometimes he can finish the bottle but most of the times not.
We bought him the MAM bottles, it is said the nipple is more mother like. For the first week, he was completely ok with the new bottles, no extreme cries or shout during the feeding time. But from the second weeks on.....it has to be depended on hi mood. He tends to be cranky during the feeding time, if it is not the nipple that he wants, he will really cry so loud and move his body and limbs extremely. We tried to feed him by the spoon then, but he is so "fierce" during the feeding time, then it is so difficult for us to adopt this method.
I would only be away from him for long time twice a week, my husband will feed him patiently during the time when i am not there. Hope my son will soon adapt the bottles in the coming days, weeks or months!
Have a nice day!
