The star is the result of the plus + and negative - ratings that users have given your discussions, responses and comments. We are told in the FAQs that it is factored into our earnings so therefore it is important too. More info can be found here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx The different colours are determined by the difference btween plussess and negatives. 95+ = blue, 85+ = red 75+ = yellow and so on.

I'm not sure, but i have a hunch that for every 100 post you get a different star. At least it looks that way. Everyone with a star has a 100 or more posts. That's my guess.

Truthfully i have no clue. I started a discussion asking the same thing a while ago and got no responses but i hope someone responds with a good answer to your discussion.
