I am a filipino born and raised in the Philippines but living in Switzerland learning all the Europeans cultures and values. But I will never forget being part of my community.
I am proud being a Filipino, born and raised in my country land, lived with the best people in town, learned to be the most talented people on earth. As Bamboo said, Pinoy Ako, Buo ang Aking Loob May agimat ang dugo Ko..
Examples of the Philippines`Pride are Charice Pempengco who is now a renowned International Young Singing Sensation, Or International Young Star of the New Generation. Another is Manny Pacquiao who brought filipino first prize in almost all boxing divisions in the world. There are so much more names to mention but again, be proud of who you are.
Proudly Pinoy,
Jeff

Mabuhay!
I am and getting proud being a Filipino every minute... If you are here in the Philippines right now (to my kababayans abroad), you will see and feel a sweep of nationalism and patriotism in every aspect of the country - entertainment(TV stations are initiating campaigns for a responsible voting), fashion(shirts and other apparel shout the nationalistic spirit in their prints and designs), and this is just to name a few!
I can feel that the Filipinos are coming into terms with unity and responsibility towards our country. Let's just pray the momentum will be kept up and no one will falter.
For I believe, if we hold hands together, we can make a big difference to our country and to the world.

Waaahhh! Really? I mean, maybe we look alike... LOL So who's "mas pogi?" Hehe! Just kidding...
Anyway, is it really different there abroad? The culture and all that? I used to like to work there, but now I think I'd rather stay here "sa Pinas"... It's like if I'm gonna go abroad, it would be just for a vacation. Yeah! Because there is no recession in the Philippines compared to other countries - we've been always in recession. LOL
Thanks! Magdilang-anghel ka sana that nationalism will have a reward... Hehe!
Mabuhay, kabayan!

Thank you again for coming back to respond. I am here for my family. You really look similar to my cousin. Some features. But anyways, Even if I am far away, I will never forget being who I am and where I came from. I am still the same person I know and will always will. I wanted to visit Philippines next year but there is no assurance. I just wish to have enough funds to go home. I miss my family a lot. I also miss my four dogs especially tisa. I really miss all my friends too.
Keep posting. Happy Mylotting. Have a nice day.

First thing I have noticed is that, you look like my cousin back in Nueva Ecija who is a basketball player of their barangay. It is pretty cool because many filipinos look alike. How is that. And what can I say, Wow! every minute you feel being filipino. That is great. Well same here, but I am not doing the culture I am suppose to do since I am here abroad. But still, I cannot wait to experience the true filipino community when I go home after 2 years. I am living here and willing to take my family here but not to leave the Philippines but to at least show my parents how people live here compared to home.
Thank you for being so patriotic. Continue doing it and you will be rewarded for being nationalistic. May not be in any kind..but cannot exchange the feeling that you get..
Cheers,
Jeffrey

Mabuhay ang mga Pinoy!! I am just happy for who I am. I may not be in the environment where I am suppose to be but still I will never forget where I came from. That is very important because I am able to show who really am I to people, what kind of people am I being a Filipino..And FYI, I was really appreciated for my values here. I am so happy that despite some negative impressions of other people in our country, still many people shout and proud to be a filipino. Philippines will always have the same problem because of all the political problems and economic crisis, but being a filipino does not affect anything. We just have to really appreciate ourselves as part of the community despite being far away.

I thought you are really serious. I am sure, there are people who still does not know Philippines, and I know some. When asked, where is Philippines, I just say that it is located somewhere out there. It is not my responsibility to show them where we live, but it is their responsibility to know, if they want to know, who we are and how we represent ourselves in the world.
Keep posting. Have a nice day. Best regards,

Thank you for being here. We filipinos are known all over the world. When people knew that I am a filipino, then the first thing they will tell me, Oh, you must be good in singing. Then I just nod and when time comes, it is better to show them whether I can really sing. That is one quality of being a filipino, being Humble.
Keep posting. Have a nice day.

That is nice of you to still be proud of your origins and stays very Filipino by heart. There are many of our countrymen that after being able to go abroad forgets who they are and adopts to the culture they are in. When they finally visits home they completely are transformed by the culture where they lived.
I am happy seeing and hearing kabayan from abroad that still preserves and are proud of who they are where ever they are in the globe.

Yes you are absolutely right. A lot of our countrymen forget where they came from. They just taste the life of being independent and being covered by those branded clothes and accessories packed with perfumes and unnatural blonde hair, then they forget who they are..It sucks but it is happening.
I will always be happy to be filipino and I will never forget my filipino values my parents taught me. Hmmm, my favorite word that I will never forget is OPO. Everytime my father converse to me, I never forget to say OPO, like Hindi po, Sige po, Bukas Po. Also, I will never forget to give mano to my LoLo and Lola. They are an inspiration.
Anyways, Thank you also rsa for sharing your thoughts on being a true blooded filipino particularly those who live abroad. I am glad you participate on this topic. May God Bless You.
Regards,
Jeff

The last time I visited our country was last year. But then i don't miss a day talking with my family back home using skype or yahoo messenger. Anyway you are right about what you say. There are lots of Filipinos whom we should be proud of like Batista (half Filipino, half Greek= Freekjust kidding. We have Nicole of the P*ssy Cat Doll lead singer (half Filipino, half American).
Lou Diamond Philips, a Hollywood Actor, his also Half Fil, half American, but proud of their roots. And the singer from Black Eyed Pea (Apl= Apple) who sung Bebot is also a Filipino making waves in US. We should not forget of who we are. Happy Mylotting. This is StrawberryChocoDAhi singing... As part of my being Filipino, I would also like to try to participate in the national television. I can sing but not good, I can dance but not professional, I can compose songs but just for fun. I will be joining the national singing competition like american idol by next year and we`ll see how I can manage it. Wish me luck.
Anyways, thank you for the lists of names you have mentioned yesterday. I am so glad to know few of them and I made a research about these people and they are really fantastic to what they do abroad but still proud being a filipino. How many filipinos out there does not even what them to be called or known as filipinos? A lot, some reasons could be, the negative outlook of other people from other nations about filipino..whether a filipino is only after money..or whatever..but who does not need money? We all need money but bear in mind that filipinos way of wanting bucks of money is for their family at home waiting..then is that good enough to hear?
Anyways, once again, thank you my friend for sharing your thoughts on these..
Good luck,
Jeff

Yes, I will always treasure the moment where I play with my brother and sister in the small village in Nueva Ecija where we experience those fresh air coming from the mountains and from the plants in the ricefields. I always want to go back to where I am suppose to be but because of out country`s economical condition, we cannot provide enough for our families. This is the particular reason why we go abroad, to give something and let our family experience what these people experiencing here.
I noticed that you are new here as well, same like me and I started all my posts just last night and here I am again, giving response to all the comments made by my kababayans.
Anyways, thank you my friend for sharing your thoughts and proud filipino. Let us share our patriotism.
Pinoy,
Jeff
