What are the differences in the many forms of Christianity?

I know we could "wiki" the information or otherwise look up some list, but why not use the power of MyLot to create a great new reference for others? One that is more personal and experience-oriented than a cold definition.
Each of us can write what we know about a branch of Christianity we feel we know, adding experiences or corrections as necessary.
I don't really know alot from experience: I know Roman Catholic is a formal, strict interpretation, that Baptists believe your sins can be washed away and Mormons believe Jesus appeared on the North American continent.
What can you add?

I been to many different denominational churches and Baptists are not the only ones that believe that your sins can be washed away. All I know for sure is that there is only one way to Heaven. Trust JESUS CHRIST. Not responding to upset folks, just responding to your post. Hopefully you get some good replies. Be well.

That brings up a good question: What seperates the types that do believe in washing away sins"?

Personally I think what separates or another way to say it could be, why so many different denominations if there are so many with similar beliefs? From my experience it's people, sin, unforgiveness, pettiness, apathy and many other things. As long as human beings are involved in anything, things will be messy, period. If churches can be divided because of music, the color of carpet, we have bigger problems then I can solve.
