I have only ever moved once. I moved from the home where I was raised, to an apartment downtown. I did live in Arizona for the better part of a year, but I don't really count that as moving, because I still had the apartment at home in Canada, and 98% of my stuff was there. When my husband's job was done in AZ, we moved in here together.
How many times have you moved, in your lifetime? Where do, and whhy?

I just moved here in February. I was living in Lufkin, only to realize that i had been the victim of a real estate scam. So naturally, i had to move. There was little chance of staying there, knowing that i would never own the place that i had been paying for month after month. My sister found this land for me and i have been here ever since.

We moved into our family home when I was 3 years old. My mother lived there for 42 years selling it just last year. When I moved in with my first husband we moved 3 times before we got married. We lived in a total of 7 homes in our 7 years of living together. Geesh! That guy couldn't hold down a job and even got us kicked out of a few homes. Jerk! And I moved into 5 different homes since he left in 1992. Gosh, that puts me in 14 homes in 46 years. No wonder I don't want to ever move again!

Well, when I was younger, I moved a because of my dad's job. We still had our "base"/our home in Portugal, but we lived in many other countries.
After, we kind of staying in Portugal for quite some time and then I came to Canada.
Ever since I'm here - a bit over 25 years - I moved 3 times. The first from hubby's aunt house to an apartment( Oh it felt good. I love hubby's aunt to pieces, but I always had had privacy, and that was nonexistent when we were living with her ( one house. One older( hubby's aunt and uncle) couple as owners. One older couple - hubby's parents - living on the second floor. Us living in a small room on the 3rd floor. Hubby's sister, hubby's cousin, hubby's grandmother.... way too many people in one house LOL. Then from our apartment we moved here. And the rest is history LOL

Are you kidding? I've moved so many times that I couldn't tell you all of where I've lived!! I'm serious!! I've lived in I know of at least 50 different places! Not kidding in the least bit. I've lived in Virginia, Texas, Arkansas, New York, and now North Carolina. However, in Texas, New York and Virginia, I've moved to several different places but we're hoping we've found our retirement home once and for all BUT, if we do move, it'll only be one more time and that'll be it and it'll have to be something that we're really looking for. A one floor house with a basement and lots and lots of land for our fur babies to roam. Till we find that place, we're staying right where we are.

If I am counting right, I have lived in 18 different houses in my lifetime. I have lived in a couple of them several times. I plan to have only one more move in my lifetime though and that will be when my husband and I find or build a home that we intend to spend the rest of our lives.

hello danish...
i think i have moved to new house for the third time now.
the first i live in my hometown with my parents...(i move to a boarding house then where i work but that just for about two months and i still go home every weekeneds, so that's not counted)
* i moved from my hometown in Laguna to another province here in the Philippines Cebu, because my husband was assigned here. the second and third are just from one town to another also here on Cebu and i think this number will still count because my husband's line of work requires constant moving coz they are always reshuffled...
the longest that we stay in a certain town is 2 years and the least is 1 year...
moving out is not easy with all those packing of things and so on...but i come to live on it and i think i am better now in packing our things! hehehe and its nice that i come to know new people and new friends as we moved...

I moved many many times. First I was in Philippines, then I moved to Malaysia but after a year, I moved to Singapore. Still i am not satisfied with my life, I entered Europe started in Germany and now ended in Switzerland. I think this will be the last. But I might be moving locally from one place to another. I am in Thun now but I will be moving next month to Basel because it is better to get more jobs in the City.

We are moving again next month (or maybe the month after) and this will be 14 moves. To colleges, first apartment, first house, renting, buying: we've been through alot, but we really want to stay at this next place for a LONG time. To stay in one place, sometimes it takes luck, sometimes it is just determination.

When moved once when I was little. Then I lived in the same house with my mom until I got married. My husband and I bought a little house and lived there for 5 yrs. Then we had saved enough money to build a brand new log home. It was wonderful! We lived there for 13 yrs and then decided that we needed a bigger home, so we ended up building this new home that we live in now. I hope to live here for the rest of my life. My husband says that eventually this house will be too big for us and we will want to downsize. We'll see what happens.

NOt always a home, and only twice mine.. but I just did my 28th move in 32 years. Actually just shy 32 years. ALways looking for a better place to raise the kids, moved to follow better paying jobs or cause rent was raised to high, things like that were the reasons for the moves. I have the whole process down to a designated science! Hate it tho!

Hi danishcanadian -
About 15... so far! LoL! Born in Philadelphia and also lived in Michigan, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Norfolk & Virginia Beach, VA; San Mateo, CA; and now Midlothian, VA again. Several places in between in the same states too. It's been fun & hard at the same time through the years but it has been very interesting seeing new places & traveling. Now, my goal is to travel to other countries. Can't wait! :)

I have only ever moved home once when I was younger, and that was so that I would be able to get into a good public school, as my parents couldn't afford to send me to private school.
I am thinking about moving house again now. I am thinking about getting a flat so that I can get myself onto the property ladder. I think that now is a really good time to be buying a property seen as the prices are so low at the moment, so that is why I am seriously considering it.
