Big headphones, or in ear?

Ever sat on a bus or train, and seen someone wearing the big headphones around there ears, and always thought it looked funny? Well i did, until one day my in ear headphones broke, and i was on a train journey that still had another 3 hours to go, so i decided to use my big headphones. I got a lot of funny looks, however i realised that nothing beats having really good headphones, even if you might look a tad stupid :P
Anyone agree? Or does the thought of everybody looking and pointing put you off listening to music the way its meant to be listened to?!

I like the big ones becasue they sound so much better but I agree they look really stupid. I like the small ones becasue they are so much easier to carry around you doint thave to have these huge ear phones in you hand the small ones fin it a pocket

yeah, also when i go to the gym, i listen to a lot of music, and the last thing i want is to be wearing big headphones while working out, plus i doubt they would stay on my head when running on a treadmill!
I suppose they both have advantages and disadvantages, but if i have the chance to wear the big headphones, i would, i dont mind looking silly in them anymore, i enjoy the music more :)

cool, after using the big headphones for a few months, i find that the outside of my ears can ache with the pressure of the headphones, however the music soudns so much better. I also find that in ear headphones tend to slip out quite a bit, or sometimes one of them will be a little further in my ear than the other one, resulting in louder music in one ear than the other, which really annoys me!

I have never seen a pair of ear buds that properly fit me 9they are either too large or fall out of my ear). Because of this, I have always used headphones.
However, there are a lot of smaller and more discreet headphones being made now. I really like the ones from Bose. Although they are a bit expensive, they have the best sound quality I have ever heard!

I prefer earphones, not because I think headphones look silly (I don't think that at all), but because whenever I tried to use headphones, they kept slipping. It's also a lot easier for me to listen to music while using earphones, since I'm using the type that's supposed to block some of the outside noise. Plus, they're a lot more convenient since if I need to take them off, I can easily put them into my pocket.

if anyone does that, i wud see a rabbit... kidding aside, i would probably smile, bt not laugh.. i wud understand that people using the so said circumaural headphones know how to use their gadgets wisely...
am not bein' stereotypical but i bliv the hare-like headphones produces less hearing associated impairments than the canal earphones.
