The first golden rule to having a good voice is not to take up smoking, and if you're a smoker quit smoking before the habit destroys your your singing voice further.
Thousands of irritants and chemical cigarettes damage your voice. Would you believe?
How do you maintain your good voice?

Yes smoking will destroy your voice. Smoking make your voice hard and it will not be good to sing songs. So leave the habit of smoking if you need a good voice and a good health.

I'm not here to advocate the wonders of smoking - we all know it is awful for you. But vocally..I am a female who sings hard rock. I really haven't seen any adverse effects on my voice and I have been singing/smoking now for quite some time.
I suppose it really depends on what you like to sing..I'm sure I won't be auditioning for any church choirs anytime soon.
