Hi All what do you think is the best anti virus available at the moment. I currently use Kaspersky and have been very pleased with it, it seems to have good security and also allows parental controls and a lot of logging and blocking. It also does not seem to resource hungry, I have used Norton products in the past and seen the machine slow, sometimes to an almost stop. What would you recommend to protect my machine?

I used so far McAfee anti virus software and I found lot of difficulties with that.I was not able to do anything while the software is getting updated or when the scan is going on. As I had license for that, I used . Now the license period ended and I have now installed the trial version of avast and I found it is some what better that Mc Afee. But here also my browser stops responding when the software is updating. But I don't find any difficulties when the scan is in progress. You can try with this, if your RAM is more.

As I have always said. BitDefender is the number 1 anti virus available today. It is raked top by TopTenReviews dot com. Second would be Kaspersky and so on. Bitdefender is very light on your resources and you could never go wrong with it. Your computer will be safer than ever while using it. At this point you are wondering why I'm encouraging you to use it? It's because I've never been infected by a virus since I've used it. Yes I do get attacked by they never get past BitDefender. :)

Hi simesc! I have never used kaspersky antivirus and i dont know how good is it. What i mostly use is AVG! It seemed to be very good before but after sometime i got problem with it. Virus began to attack my computer and disabled my antivirus. Then one of my friend suggested me to use nod 32 and its two months since i installed in my pc and still doing great. May be this will do great in your computer too. Have a nice time mylottng!!!

for free i would say AVG, Its good however lately, there seems to be some pretty nasty viruses staying away from detection. The best one i think is NOD 32, its quite expensive however i have never had a problem with it, and would reccomend it to anyone if there willing to pay the cash to get it

I think avast professional is good to use if you have business use and Avast Home edition for personal use. The avast home edition is free and they update their virus database daily and this gives lot of extra protection.
