Today, when I log in myLot I find that just next to my name there is PURPLE STAR with 4 in it. When I put mouse on the star, it appearing my reputation of 41/100. I don`t know why but I do know it means something.
I used the search engine in mylot and knew my reputation is relevant to the quality of your discussions and responses. But the only thing that make me confused is that why my reputation is so low. I really care about my reputation and after analyse some cases I have come to a conclution that the discussions I`ve started is much less than any other`s. Although I response is pass one hundred, I feel so depressed. %_

Yes, I would probably in particular of my reputation here in mylot and in my real life. Yeah, this is how you are rated by fellow mylotters, though it does not mean a thing for the amount of earnings, for me a higher if not the highest rate is what I wanna get. I use to tell some of my friends here about the red star in number 10 they'd got. I' m not sure what's the highest color other than red. I see these people as good example. And I set a goal that I will reach on the highest point. Well its not easy as I observed 'coz in my case I got a deflate in rate from number 8 now its number 6.

Uhm...
it DOES affect our earnings.
In the FAQS its states:
'The DRS is factored into our proprietary earnings algorithm, so this will help us properly reward valuable contributions to the myLot community.'

Thanks for your response. Now that we are sharing the same experience, but we should never feel depressed and stop there, I firmly believe if we do response every discussion seriously that can earn positive rating and get a higher reputation finally. Have a good day!

well as I know your reputation is part of the payment process
and maybe the reason you have a low reputation is because many myloters disagree or do not like your responses
if you could see on the right bottom side of each post which is not your own there is a rating button were you could rate that post + for positive or you agree - negative or you disagree and ! for abuse and at the top the one who started the discussion could make the post the best response
maybe a lot of people rate your posts - that is why you have low reputation
don't worry if you post quality response you could rise your reputation back in no time. I shall rate positive your post to start lol
hope you rate mine positive ^_^ or best response lol just kidding just rate me what ever you like
have a nice day and happy lotting ^_^

Thanks for sharing so useful information. Well, maybe I should learn from you that only 123 responses can get a high reputation. All the responses I post is truely come from my heart, although my mother language isn`t English and sometimes I can`t express myself clearly and make myself get a low reputation. %_

I know mine went up from a 7 to an eight in the last week. I've read a couple of your discussions and responses and i can't see any problems so I've just rated your discussion positive. Hopefully you'll be back up there soon x

remember differing opinions tend to make a discussion more interesting.....
I don't see that happening. Some people tend to take your disagreement on their discussions personal and then you begin to see your reputation drop. I for one like to debate...to even play the devil's advocate...to bring an opposing opinion to the table just to get more opinions out there to discuss. This doesn't go over very well with some mylotters.

myLot reputation doesn't concern me at all, as long i am abiding myLot rules and guidelines by posting and responding to discussions. i don't need to worry myself.
i really don't know if reputation has an effect on how myLot pays us.

You know for the longest time I didn't care about my reputation, but now that it is higher than I started with, I intend to keep it up here if at all possible. I started with a 3, and then it went to a 4 and stayed there it seems like forever. Then I started a discussion that lots of people seemed to like and it jumped up to a 6, snd then an 8, and I am glad for my eight even though I like blue as it is my favorite color. I will just continue to do my best to keep mine up and rate others positive. I rated all of you poitive as a matter of fact. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I have never cared about my reputation here, I though that it won't affect our earnings, but now that I read all the responses to your discussion, I would be more aware of my reputation, and I would actually start rating people from now on. I think it will help a lot of people if their discussions are rated. Thanks for posting this! THis helps a lot of us who are still a little confused with mylot rules. =)

flyisky, I would like to have a purple star, too. It seems though that after hours of musing and answering the discussions, I only get to have $2.84. The enjoyment though is in communicating with people. Here are strangers from the four corners of the earth with similar predicaments as my next-door neighbor and asking for my help. Couldn't turn my back on them.
