Do you / Would you watch movies/tele-serials of alien languages with subtitles?

I'd have to say no :=( It is clear that subtitles do not represent the real emotion/s connected to the dialog and the scene. There are many Hindi and Marathi (My local languages) films/teleserials which I wanted to recommended to the unknown. Alas! The language barrier.
But still are there people who are willing to try their hands at crossover movies and the like with the support of subtitles? As I said, I personally hate subtitles. How about you?

Dear cannibal,
When I was young, I will read the Bahasa Malaysia subtitles
when watching English movies/programme on the television.
I was trained that way, so..whenever I watch any movie in
the cinemas I will listen to the conversations and at the
same time read the subtitles. How about you?
I learned my Mandarin from watching Chinese/ Mandarin shows
and understand by reading the subtitles.
However, certain movies in our local cinemas especially
those Cantonese movies, one quarter of the screen is covered
by 3 languages of subtitles. It is really annoying. The subtitles
are English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin...
Thanks and do keep in touch!

That would be really annoying! Three subtitles? Only watching the faces of the actors and nothing else of them?
Personally I do not like it with the subtitles in. It's kind of distracting. Besides, I've observed that they do not always convey the appropriate or intended message.
Btw, it's nice to know you have so many diverse languages in your area. Ditto with me here!
