Tow truck drivers have never ending work. Every day while listening to the police scanner I hear of multiple wrecks in my county and tow truck companies being dispatched left and right. My man is a tow truck driver and he stays very busy, so busy in fact that i am considering becoming a tow truck driver myself, if nothing else to help him and his fathers business out. He thinks it would be neat, hard work but that I would do good. I too think I would, but I do think the men who I have to go and tow will be to happy about it, especially if one can not change his own car tire and i have to do it for him. LOL that wil make my whole day. lol So what do you think about a female tow truck driver? Would you want her or me to tow your car or truck or recover it from over a cliff. Don't let appearance hinder your decision, Girls are way more capable than most think.

Sure, why wouldn't I want a female to tow my vehicle? The towing of a vehicle is done by using mechanical devices, it has nothing to do with brute force, so why couldn't anyone be able to do it. Of course I wouldn't want anyone to tow my vehicle if it was due to a traffic violation, such as being parked in the wrong place. Yeah, it may be right, but why would I WANT it. Apply for the job I say.

Towing takes a lot more out of a person than you think. Sure the PTO pulls the vehicle on the bed of the truck or behind if using a wrecker, but the vehicle has to be hooked up to the tow truck first, that requires the use of J hooks and heavy duty chains, big ones 10 to 15 feet long and NO they are not light. We do not use those worthless ratchet straps like other companies, they a cheap and not nearly as good as chains. I do not feel just anyone can be a tow truck driver, sure anyone can drive a vehicle, but not everyone has the umph and ability to do the demanding work, multiple times a day. Tow truck drivers are dirty and big for a reason, it is a demanding job, not as simple as you think, but i do appreciate the encouragement. I will apply for a wreck masters certificate first, then the position. Thanks

Hello friend, this is really an interesting concept. I have not heard this before but looking at it practically, I don't see any reason why you should be stopping yourself. When women can drive as well as men do, they surely can master the tow truck as well. All the best!

Sure ,if female tow truck driver know what she is doing and can haul my car the right way during break down. It is not your gender that make me want you or not, it is your skill and knowledge of how not to mess up my transmission and break system during towing that count . lol!! You are right , some tow truck guys are making so much money by towing people car illegally in the apartment complex around my area, they are making all the good guys look bad. Every night these thieves came to our apartment complex looking for car to steal, i saw their action first hand, a car can be gone in a matter of five to ten minutes. The only way to prevent them is to shoot them , there are several class action law suits in my city regarding tow truck company for illegally towing people car, and still problem continue to take place, that is why these as* holes are busy all the time, they are making big buck $$ in a day from extorting car owners with $150 -$200 for having their cars back from impound warehouse.

I don't think there's any problem with a woman applying or doing the job. Basically, she doesn't need to pull a broken car herself, she used the device provided. There's no question whether she can or can't. If you want to try the job to help him, I would cheer for you. It might be hard at first since you're not use to it but all work is like that.
