Do you wear specs? Do you like them? Have you always worn them?
I am lucky in that I am the only member of my family that does not need to wear glasses.
So I am always curious when I meet someone with glasses just how much they can actually see.
How much can you see sans spectacles?
CAN you see without 'em?

I used to be the only one in my family that didn't wear gasses until I got pregnant. Then my vision went downhill. I have to wear mine to drive and that's really it, but I do need my prescription adjusted. I hate them to be really hones.

ahh, thats a shame that you hate them, http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1708691/choose_the_right_glasses_for_your_face.html?cat=69
NOT A REFERAL LINK
Try this, you might find something that might help you feel better about wearing them

Yes, thanks to my parents (its in the genes they say), I do wear spectacles and I can see a whole lot clearer with them on. I am shortsighted and over the years the power has increased steadyly, it is really difficult for me to see with my bare eyes if the object is at least 3 meters away (it used to be 10 meters away). I find that without them I get migraines, my eyes get tired/hurt and I get bruised bumping into things (that is another story). Thank your lucky stars that you dont need them, it saves you a whole lot of moolah.

I don't get out of bed without them....I can hardly see a thing. I have worn glasses since I was in second grade so really don't know what it's like to go without them.....and I don't want contacts.....I like changing them when I need to just for something different...a new look. You are lucky you don't have to wear them!

HI 3cardmonte: Like you I grew up in my family being the only one who did not need to wear glasses of any kind;
I had the best vision one can have until about 2-3 years ago when I became diabetic
and boy have there been some major changes since then in fact I need to go back to my eye doctor because with the current eye-glasses I have I am finding it harder and harder to see to read using them and the god-awful bi-focals, man that is sooo hard to get used too ( for me it was).
Some days I have to use them here on the computer too, it just depends on how I'm feeling and so on;
Take care of your eyes, be grateful for as long as you can that you won't need glasses of any kind and if/when that day comes, its a lot to get used too;

I will answer your all questions one by one,
1- No i don't wear specs because my eye site is normal, but for style statement i wear specs some time.
2- No i don't always ware them. because it is for style statement only.
Great that you don't have to wear glasses in your family. You are lucky, but waite for some years when you will be 40 or 45 you have to have glasses.

Hello, I unfortunately wear glasses. I also wear contacts. I hate my glasses they always slid down my nose when I sweat or get tiny drops of water on them when it rains. They are convenient in the morning when I dont feel like putting in my contacts but other than that I REALLY hate them. I've had to wear glasses since elementary school but refused to because I got made fun of. So if I didnt sit in the front of the class I pretty much failed cuz I couldnt see the board. With corrective lenses I can see 20/15 and without, I pretty much legally blind. I can see blurry shapes and stuff like that but I cant see any finer points. Like someones facial features.

I'm nearsighted but not terribly so. I've been wearing glasses for several decades...since I was a kid. I don't like contacts, no one's shooting a laser beam in my eyes, so I'm stuck with them...but they darken in sunlight so they're fairly convenient when I'm outdoors.

Don;t blame you. someone told me what actually happens during laser eye, they actually remove the top layer of they eye and re attach it!!!! If you rub your eyes for like 3 days after it can come detached!!

I never had to wear glasses until I was about 19. I started working in an office and was on the computer all day. And started squinting to read and such so now I wear a very low prescription to read and use the computer. I don't mind it. I actually love my glasses and think I look okay with them on. I can see very well without them just need for them to read.

I do not wear them either. Like you, I am the only member of my family that does not use them, even for reading. I guess with all the bad things I inherited the one good thing that somehow worked out was my vision. Made it through more than a few decades and still have 20/20 vision.
