I never seem to get to watch what i want on the tv.It seems that the husband has taken over the tv,who else has to watch what their partner wants all the time?

I'm really not that fussed about watching TV but, if there's something I specifically want to see I either watch it or record it & watch it later. The remote is a 'man thing' - they like to think they have control but we only need to hide the batteries and they become jibbering wrecks I wouldn't want to have much contact with the remote anyway, just incase he's actually done what I've told him to do with it, on more than one occasion!!

My parents get to watch what they want to watch in my house as my freeview broke a while back. But that is one of the reasons that I am so happy that we are now able to watch a lot of channels over the internet! It means that I am able to catch what I want live and if not, watch it up to a month afterwards :)

My husband and my kids are the ones who use the remote most in my house. If my husband is at work, the kids use it, if he is home, he has it. At one point, it really bothered me, but I got over it when I started spending more time on my computer and reading my books.
If there is something that I really want to watcg, the family wii hand over the remote because they know that it is a rarity for me to even attempt to watch television.

your an adult, you have equal rights, so why do you let someone take control over something so small, if you want to watch something, you watch it, if there is something different you both want to watch, one of you watch your programme and the other records theres and watches it another time. If you never seem to be able to watch tv then your husband is watching far too much tv and you should perhaps do something else together

There are three of us, three satellite boxes and four tvs, so here everyone can watch what they want.
I do remember a time when there was only one tv, but it was okay because there was only three channels to pick from and everyone pretty well liked the same the thing.
I don't know what makes the menfolk think they automatically get dibs on the remote. I'll tell you what I would probably do, I'd find a second tv, a vcr, some empty vcr tapes and tape stuff threw the day that I can watch in the evening in the bedroom or somewhere, may need two vcrs. They should be fairly cheap at a pawn shop. I'm going to have to find a couple myself since I messed up our two.

Hey,
Well I still live with my parents so mainly my dad is the one who holds the television remote in his hands. And whenever the commercials appear, he always channel surfs to see what is on the other channels. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!
