My 5 month old loves to stand up and has no interest in crawling so I frequently stand her up. Today I stood her up and she supported herself on the coffee table and was very proud of herself. Also she wanted me to grab her hands so I did and she decided to take steps twords her pops today for the first time and it was amazing. She is my second daughter and I'm juist amazed at how quickly they learn and how different they are. Even tho she can do all this she still can't see, to cut her first tooth. Anyone have any amazing baby firsts to talk about? Thank you for reading and responding!

It is amazing that as early as 5 months old, your baby is already showing signs and interests to walk. Correct me if I am wrong friend but as far as I know, it is not advisable as walking earlier makes the child legs more prone to being bow-legged. I am not really sure but I think I read it somewhere.

I'm not sure I just know my first daughter was walking at 8 months and hasn't had a problem. Thank you for the thought tho. Good night.

You are right chickadee. It isn't good for the babies legs to have them up and walking with your help at this young of an age. Their little legs aren't strong enough to support that weight at 5 months old. I'd be careful because she is apt to turn out bull-legged as chickadee stated.

All three of our kids pretty much hit their milestones on time. When the baby books said they would do something they did it right about that time. My oldest talked really well early though. At 18 months she was talking at a 5 year old level. She still talks our ears off lol. A kid I watched in daycare was pretty amazing though. He rolled over at 2 months, crawled by 4 and was walking by 6. He was a little terror though. He spent more than his share of time in the time out chair lol.

My son just started smiling this week and I am so proud of him! Its a lot of work though just to get a smile sometimes, but it is so worth it.
