I have logged many hours on XP, Vista, Linux, & MacOSX. Without a question MacOSX is the leader here. It has much more modern underpinnings than windows or linux, it was built on best of world class UNIX varients and state of the art APIs, and is the only one with a microkernel base, something Linux for example has never been able to sucessfully impliment. So, for equal hardware, MacOSX runs its applications faster. The MacOSX browser Safari, on the Mac is the fastest on the planet.
MacOSX is the world standard in terms of human interfaces for computers: intuitive & easy to use. Its file structure is much easier to use and understand, it has no DL files for example, and its Spotlight technology for finding things has no equal in any other OS. Microsoft for example was unsuccessful in implienting it for Vista or Windows 7, and it doesnt exist on Linux or XP. Without a doubt it has the most polished and refined interface as well, since Apple basically invented for home computers the windows model to begin with in 1983! Lastly MacOSX is the only OS with modal menus and the dock, making the interface cleaner and less confusing.
MacOSX is also the world standard for having the least malware, eg. viruses, worms etc. This as again thanks to its more advanced underpinnings of its implentation on UNIX using secure BSD code. I have antivirus software on my Mac, the only malware I have ever found was connected to Microsoft products, Word, and XP. We are talking almost 10 years. Im not saying there isnt malware targeted at MacOSX, what I am saying it is way less in real life than the other OSs.
Apple Care that provides support for MacOSX is again world class, year after year, MacOSX support beats all OSs, even all other manufacturers according to Comsumer Report. Linux may not even come with direct to user support, and I have the scars from the bulletholes in me from Microsoft windows support to remind me about had bad it really is.
MacOSX is also much more stable and crashes much less than Linux or window varents. Pretty much, it just works. Also, it really is just plug and play, with most of drivers for any device, USB, Firewire, etc is built in to its foundation. So your perferals just work.
It is way faster and easier to install or upgrade compared to the other OSs, the last MacOSX major upgrade I did from Tiger to Leopard took less than 30 min. and everything, again, just worked. In comparision, XP took me three days and Vista took a week. Linux, well for Linux, I was unable to get it to just work for all the things I needed.
Basically, just about any software you would want to run has a MacOSX version, for example: Microsoft Office, Quicken, World of Warcraft, Photoshop, AND it will run faster on a Mac and be easier to use. And if there is not a MacOSX version of it, MacOSX has built in to it the ablity to run XP or Vista on the same machine, even at the same time, even with dedicated CPU cores. Windows and Linux can't do that!
Lastly MacOSX software is way cheaper, the next version of MacOSX Snow Leopard will be only $29, its peer Vista 64 Professional cost me almost $600USD, even Linux box software is more expensive. Thats right MacOSX only has ONE version, and that is the Professional, with full everything! Also, apple does MAJOR upgrades on MacOSX about every 18mos, compare that to the years it takes the others, so you really do get state of the art OS.
According to Consumer Reports, the combination of Mac hardware with MacOSX is also the most reliable with most uptime and fewest repairs. And combined with the world class AppleCare support you have a setup that is unbeatable for having the lowest hassle factor.
Lastly it is myth that overall Mac computers with MacOSX are more expensive, when you compare the exact same specifications to another PC, you find that there is not much if any difference in price. However unlike the others, Apple doesnt make junk, they are made to much higher standards, and their reliablity is proof, if not the fit and finish, and you get that for basically as a built in extra. Macs last much longer, in fact the average Mac in service is used almost twice as long as your average PC. The system upgrades are way cheaper as noted above, so the real cost of having a Mac/MacOSX combination is in the long run total cost is actually less, in fact way less and its dollar value is way more.
It is myth

Definitely Windows Xp
It is very very user friendly and much ease of use. however i do install vista themes and other themes some times when i bored with look. other than that, i have no complaints about Windows Xp. i usually change windows logon screen and boot screen by using tuneup software. As i install themes as well, i always have the experience of using OS advanced than Xp, eventhough i was with Xp.
Have a nice time!

i think the best is linux and apart this one i think windows better than apple or others os!!
Normally linux is open source so you cna have many softwares for free and many are good for many purposes too...it is also really safe from virus and mlaware and also have a ood user interface if you like more manage you os with a graphical user interface as well!!
So windows is ok too from this point of view may be is not as safe as linux and in many cases is slower to upload or download files, connections and so on..bu he user interface should be on the of the best till now!!
Normally i don't like macos and apple products..they are really limited if we compare towards other os!!

I use Windows XP exclusively, because the software programs that I have are not compatible with Vista, and I can't afford a Mac. I never really was interested in Linux, because it seems too complicated and even though many programs are free, they don't work as well as programs you can buy.

I would prefer to use Microsoft XP! Because it has a lot of compatible devices than any other OS. Just try it! And you will like it!
