OK about 7 years ago they put a name to my issues Bipolar Manic depression and chronic anxiety disorder, then they gave me a pile of pills to take every day. I was stoned out of my mind 24/7 and trying to raise kids, by the way at the time I was also a heavy equipment operator for a road construction crew . After taking the meds for a year I was no longer feeling depressed or much of anything else for that matter, then I wrecked a 2 ton roller into a fence and continued driving for about 20 feet before I realized what had happened. I reported for the required safety mans drug test with my bottles in hand and watched the dude flip out. Apparently I should never have been driving anything on any of them let alone all of them. I flushed the pills ( I really needed the job) and have been without them ever since.
Well over the last 6 months things have been hitting me really hard again and yesterday it took everything I had to even get out of bed. I need to find a way to handle this without being the stoned mommy, and all the doctors seem to want to do is put me on either the same pills or new ones that still dope you up.
I am desperately asking for suggestions of treatments that you may know of.
Thank you

I'm not on anything as of right now and have to admit I am having a very hard time with it but at least I can take care of my kids. They had me on Xanex, Vlium, and Desyrel. It was not a good mix.
I am so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time, if you wanna talk send me a message and I'll give you my contact info. I will never turn down a new friend.

Have you tried replacing the lights in your home with those artificial sunlight bulbs? I know it sounds stupid but when things got really bad and I just barely made it to the couch, where I would spend my day directing traffic, some one suggested that to me. Beleive it or not they seeme dto help, only a little at first but enough that I would be able to start going out and sitting on the porch in the sun. Now my anxiety is my biggest issue and it keeps me awake) and the loss of energy from the deppression is much better.
My heart so goes out to you. I remember days like those and it hurts me to know you are suffering. Please let me know if there is anything I can do even if you just want to vent.

I know the feeling of not wanting to get out of bed and staying in bed most of the day. Ihave
no energy, none I feel guilty about that because I don't work and yet I'm exhausted, I hate feeling this way,
it's not the way I want to live, I'm miserable. Mydepresion nd anxiety are alittle better since I started taking meds but
still I'm mostly depresed a

My first response is maybe you can work with your doctors to find a medication that works for you. Some people with bipolar disorder cannot function off of medication, this, however may not be the case for you. My ex-husband went of his meds a two years ago and now he has divorced me, lost his job and has moved in with his parents, he is breaking from reality I think and it has a lot to do with his not treating his disorder. But every individual is different and there are two types of bipolar disorder.
If it is depression you are needing help with you might try Sam-e. Its a natural supplement that you can buy at Wal-Mart. Its for depression and it ups a chemical in your brain that occurs naturally, so there should not be any side effects. HOWEVER, it is cautioned that persons with bipolar disorder shouldn't take it because it locks you into a manic phase. You might ask your doctor about trying it, I would certainly talk to a doctor before trying any natural remedy for your treating your disorder. If the doctors you have talked to before aren't helping then I would suggest getting new ones, and a good therapist good help you a lot, I know they have helped me in the past with my depression. Good luck to you and I hope you get to feeling better.

First I am so sorry to hear about your ex-husband. It is truly sad to hear when this stuff tears lives apart like that. Second thank you for the advice and warm thoughts.I will be looking for a new doctor in 2 months IO have to wait till it's ok with the insurance. When I get one I will ask about the Sam-e. Do you know how long it stays in your system?
Thanks

I have to think right away that you were either on something that obviously didnt react well to you, your doc is an idiot considering your line of work and the fact you have kids to care for and/or the dose was way too high! Just out of curiousity, what were they giving you?? and how much? have you gone to another doctor for a second opinion or is that not possible?

I saw two doctors the first one put me on Zanex (the blue bars I was to take half of a bar 3 times a day). and Desyrel (100 MG),the second one added Diazepam (10MG)
I have since quit taking these and have seen another doctor who wanted to put me back on them and pretty much read me the right act for taking myself off. I'm not a serial killer!
I have to wait 2 months to see a new doctor because of the insurance.
Thanks for agreeing that the doc is an idiot.
