I actually enjoy going to the laundromat, as long as I don't have to bring my kids with me. Doing laundry and going grocery shopping are the only times I ever get away from my kids (a couple hours a week doing shopping and 2-3 hours twice a month to do laundry). The only thing I don't like is having to carry it all over there and back. Luckily we only live 2 buildings away from the laundromat so it isn't far. When I was in college I lived a few blocks from the laundromat and had to carry all my stuff there and back (I didn't have a car). Sometimes it limited how much laundry I could do a week.

It sucks if you have alot of clothes to wash and have to carry a few baskets to do them!!

I always have at least 3 baskets to carry. If my husband isn't around to help me I put them in my double stroller and push them down the street. I have even done it with all 4 kids in tow (baby in my arms). I have carried them one by one before and while 7 months pregnant with my 3 kids following along. It is tiring to say the least.
But once I am there I don't mind doing the laundry. I usually bring some knitting or writing to do and the dryers totally hypnotize me. I find it all very relaxing unless it is busy or the kids are with me--then it is a just a chore that takes way too long, lol. I have a ton of laundry to do now but I can't because I sprain my ankle last week and I don't think I could stand long enough to fold it all.

It's part of the human condition.Eat,wash dishes:sweat, take shower. The only alternative is to dump clothes after they are dirty, wear less or nothing at all. However, these are either economically, socially, legally or civilly not an option. If you were rich, you could have the maid do it,but for most of us that's not an option.Imagine your poor counterparts around the world who must still do laundry by hand.Heaven help them!!!

It's not the washing I hate so much, but rather the hanging the clothes & folding them once they are clean.

Hi. blondetruly. I love washing and drying my clothes. I enjoy sitting at home or at the laundromat waiting for them to be finished too. I just don't like folding them all up. This takes too much time. My husband usually has them all folded up when he dries them at the laundromat. Thank Goodness for that!
