I think they should have kept it. Some people rely on layaway @ Walmart for X-mas, Birthdays and other stuff
Whats your thoughts?

i personally never used layaway but I have a bunch of girl friends that used it all the time at Christmas, ecspecialy with items they knew would be harder to find closer to christmas, they were pretty bummed out. I dont think it was a good bussiness decision.

Target has never had Lay Away, and to me, they are more expensive than WalMart, and do not have the selection either, so I do not see that happening.

yes i agree i was kind of disappointed that they're cancelling lawaway cause i always put the kids school clothes and christmas gifts in layaway i think this may hurt business cause some people will go where they can put things on layaway

There are hardly any stores that offer layaway now days. I doubt if Walmart will ever lose business over something like this.

Yeah but at K-mart, they are doing a free layaway day when the Wal-Mart by me shuts down their layaway on the 19th. K-mart is going to see an increase in business in their layaway Dept.

I hadn't heard about Wal-mart doing away with layaway. I'm sorry for the people that have to rely on layaway. I can remember those days and not fondly. I hope there's more stores like K-mart who will offer layaway plans as they are needed by many people.

My friend told me about Walmart's cancellation of layaway. But, what can you say. I know plenty of people that didn't get their merchandise out on time and even let it go back. In this case the good has to suffer with the bad. I never really used layaway but I'm sorry for those who did.

Well, lay away is becoming a thing of the past for all the stores anymore. I think the Cost factor is one of the main reasons. They need to be able to Save on costs, and make money quicker, so it is cheaper on their budgets to cut this out. I don't think this will be a Big factor for WalMarts though since a lot of them are turning into Super Walmarts now.
