How do you celebrate Canada Day?

I am curious. I am an American, and our calendar says today is Canada day! Do you have to work on Canada day? What do you do? How do you celebrate this day?

I live in the UK and have never heard of Canada Day. I too would be interested to know if there are any special events to celebrate.

What special days do you have in the UK? We celebrate "Independence Day" on July 4th, and we don't have to work! Except...it landed on a Saturday this year :(
