Do you ask your parents for recipes?

I do! And that's how I got interested with cooking. I would usually call up my grandma or mom or even my dad if I feel like learning a new recipe. They always have something to share and the techniques do make cooking exciting with a delish end product. How about you? Do you ask your parents or even grandparents for cooking tips? Or do you go straight to the cookbooks and follow from there?

Frankly, I don't really cook at home rather its my wife who does the cooking. But I am interested to learn a few things or two specially my favorite foods.

Yeah, best to ask family members... They give really good tips which aren't that out on the open

Hi. kabudel. No. I have never asked them. They have given me ideas on how they usually would cook a certain dish. I just cook on my own. I may use an idea that I have seen them use though.

I've only ever asked my father for two recipes and he only gave me one. My mother can't even boil water and my only grandparent left is in failing health in a nursing home. I have several cook books, I invent a lot of my own recipes, I've tried a few from TV and sometimes if I know what I want to make but don't know how, I look it up online.

I used to ask my mom how to make a couple of my favorites. However she is no longer with me to ask anymore so I know what I know from memory. I was supposed to ask my Grandmother for some of her recipes when I was a teenager, but being a teenager I had teenage things on my mind rather than listening to her. She told me I needed to get her recipes now before she'd pass... well I had not time for that at the time and now that I am a Mom myself I wish I had taken the time to get them from her so I could share some of her dishes with my kids. As I love to talk about my memories of my Grandmother and wished they would of gotten to meet her.

I am an good cook. The credit goes to my parents. I learned cooking by telephone only. Whenever i feel like cooking during my college days i call up my parents either my mother or father will give me the recipes how to cook. If i made any blunder in cooking also they will teach me to modify and make it tasty one. So always i get the tips from my parents? Anyone similar to me Pls share me the experience.

No, I haven't so far, but that is actually a great idea. My Mom is an amazing cook so I am sure she has some great ones. Great idea, thanks!
