It's 7 o'clock and I've just begun doing laundry. I prefer this time of day because I sundry my laundry. It's economical at the same time it makes laundry smell good, not to mention that the sun kills the germs. What about you? what time do you usually do your laundry and why?

You, also, have revealed to me how spoiled I am. I can imagine how tiring it is to wash clothes by hand. I feel positively lazy, I have a machine to wash my clothes and a machine to wash my dishes, I push a button and watch tv, everything works at the push of a button. Modern technology is making us lazy and no wonder American's are overweight. Thank you, I think I needed these reminders to pull me back to reality and see what really matters in life. Thank you. I have one question though, please, I hope I don't offend you when I ask. If you don't have a washing machine, how/why do you have a computer?

I don't think it's a privilege or not to have a machine, because there are people who don't like the effects on clothes on machines. There are just some stains that the machine can overlook and could just build-up over time. I could remember my grandmother and mother who never liked washing machines. They'd prefer to hand wash their clothes, and surprisingly (but not as surprising to me now) their clothes are much whiter and cleaner than those of the machine. I sometimes do that (by hand) specially with the whites, so as to have more time on them to make them whiter (I'm addicted or perhaps I am a obsessive-compulsive).

haha...nice question! but well it simply because computer is needed for my husband's work and a washing machine is something that i feel that i don't really need... and don't feel guilty about you using all those techi things...its a privilege you get...and besides, don't think that i am so pity for not having a machine coz you know, sometimes when i feel really lazy, i just call somebody to wash our clothes (except the undies) and i just pay her for the service! hehehe

AS i have to washed by my own hands, and at the morning I'm busy, so I will do at evening after my bath, and then I will sundry for a few hours, then put it at my room because my room is hot and can dry my cloth, moreoever, its not good to put cloth outside at night, too many insects around.

How many loads do you need to wash and how frequently? It'll take me forever to wash my clothes by hand.

I usually do laundry in the middle of the night. I have a laundry mat across the street that is open 24 hours with free dryers. It always packed. For best results, I go late at night while people are in bed. This way I dont have to wait for the good machines. I practically have the whole place to myself. I Love that !

Wow! That's an amazing habit, you're lucky you have a laundromat across. You got me figuring I should just do laundry at night then so as to have peace and quiet without having the hassle of waking up early (since early mornings is the best time to sleep).

It must be 7 AM there. Here it's almost 8 at night. 7:43 to be exact. We do our laundry at various times of the day but don't hang ours out to dry. I think it'd probably be a lot better to do so, though as it'd be more efficient and using less energy. However, My fiance and I don't have our own place nor the money to buy a clothesline, so we're just going to stick to washing and drying them in the washer or dryer for now. It kills germs? very interesting fact.

hello there! i usually do my laundry very early in the morning, sometimes at 5 or 6. it's more enjoyable to do this at this particular times because everything in the surrounding is still cool and quiet. plus, when the sun shines my laundry gets dried up earlier.

I'd like to do laundry at those times too, but my physical laziness just takes me over and my brain doesn't work or wake up till 7am hehehe.. But I'd like to wake up earlier and do laundry earlier as a habit. Soon!

It depends on whether i'm working that day and on which shift. i prefer to do it early because then I can get it dry and hang/pack it away the same day.... I dont like to have damp washing hanging around overnight.

True, it's better to get it over with in one day so that the tiring task of drying and hanging and folding would only last the day and not extend to the next. hehehe

On the weekends, I normally start early around 6:30 a.m. I sundry our clothes after spinning it one time in the dryer. Yes i agree its economical and with the load that I wash, I finish fast and have room to have breakfast with my daughter while the clothes are drying.

Hello laydee. If I have a lot of clothes to wash, then I choose to do it in the morning, but if it is not that much after taking a shower, I will just wash it without waiting for the next day.

I do mine first thing in the morning. I put the load in the washing machine while my husband and I are having our morning coffee. We have a front-loading washing machine, which takes a long time - but I like to hang the washing out early so it has the whole day to dry outside on the line. We don't have a dryer, and I really love the smell of sun in the clothes - especially lovely fresh sheets!

I try to do it earlier in the morning. I tend to work more afternoon shifts and therefore its better for me to start my laundry in the morning and it done before going off to work. But I also only do my laundry on the weekends since during the week I'm helping my sister take care of her baby and I try to help out around the house as much as possible while most of them are working. For me I wash everything but then its only my shirts that I don't dry because I've had so many of them lose their shape/shrink in the wash. Those I just hang upstairs in the bathroom but I still use the dryer because with my jeans if I try to air dry them they tend to become really stiff.

During weekends, I used to do my laundry in the morning...I start at about 9am...During weekdays, I used to do my laundry at night, after my work...However now, I am already studying at night, so I have no time to do my laundry anymore... I need to pay/hire someone to do it for me.

It really depends on the day. There are some days when I do it in the afternoons, others in the mornings, and sometimes, even during the evenings. Some days, I don't even need to do laundry. It really depends on the day, when it comes to the time of day that I do laundry. I really couldn't say for sure, generally speaking.

I wash my laundry in the evening then hang it outside the following morning. This allows me to leave the clothes out and they'll have plenty of time to dry. I like the feel of the clothes after they're line dried versus in the dryer, plus I'm not using electricity to dry them. I don't know what I'll do when winter comes. Before the invention of the dryer women would hang their clothes outside, year round, I don't like being cold so I guess I'll be using the dryer. Drat!
