Many people say in school and at home that boys are unexceptionally good in math! On the contrary girls are good in English or words, in fact even at home it's the mother who usually talk loud and fast !
If you're a girl/boy, which field you excel or at least good in math or English?

lol.. That's quite a nice way to put things.. I have been good in math too and English too. But when I was younger I exceled in math and not that much in English but now in my higher studies I go easy with English whereas I find it hard to tackle Math. So now I am more of words whereas earlier I was more of numbers..lol...

Ya I saw that after you brought it to my notice that I hadn't specified my gender in the profile..
Well I am a girl... And the feminine nature is taking it's toll on me since I am getting better in English and weak in Math...

They are both in demand now a days, so I wish to be good in both. However my field is really English, I learned fast in english subject rather than math. In Math, I am only mediocre. Oh maybe this is the way, I wish to be excel in English and be good in basic Math, of course I am good in basic Math.

i'm not sure if gender has anything to do with it. perhaps it's more on where the interest of a person is directed at. back in school, math was my favorite subject. i have always excelled in it and aced my exams and won math competitions. while english was something i wanted to learn because of my love for reading and writing. so i'd say that i do excel in both and i'm not a guy.
in my family, my father really liked math and my mother liked english. my 3 brothers and 4 sisters excelled in both subjects but we were known better in the field of math because back then there were math competitions around but not a lot for english excellence.

It has nothing to do with gender, if anyone knows the basic rules of grammar they can construct any sentence easier. Math on the other hand has a certain patterns and formulas, you need a good memory and logic to be good in math... sometimes strategic techniques and shortcuts also works. I'm good at both and I'm a girl. At the early age most boys are more preoccupied with toys which is why very few excel in the academic but as they mature since they are more focused than women they can build stronger companies and firms... women at that stage of life is more preoccupied with family life ... very few can really make it to the top.

I would have ti say in my house this is true! Whenever I can't figure out something math wise I ask my husband and he can figure it out in less time than it takes me to find a pen and paper or use my fingers (I admit it I use my fingers to add things sometimes) but when he goes to write something like an e-mail or blog I am asked every few minutes how to spell words! LoL sometimes I wonder how in the world he passed school when he can barely spell "the". LoL

I have only heard statements like that on tevevision shows. In real life ( in my experience) girls have been better in school overall. The guys would be better off if thay TRIED.
I am female and I am better in mathematics. I don't understand English/Writing that much. I can't really interprut shakespear like they want me to...
