Free upgrade to Windows 7?

I have heard a news that microsoft is planning to give free upgrade to windows 7 for windows vista user. Is this news correct??

I think that you are probably referring to the upgrade offered on new machines, which also applied when Windows vista came out.
If Windows 7 is set to be released on a particular date then people will not buy a new computer during the preceding months, instead they will wait until Windows 7 appears. To counteract this scenario it is normal to offer a free upgrade to anyone buying a new computer during such a period.

hello shrey, Last yr. of September one of my friend told me that free upgrade to windows 7. YES it is true that they given a free upgrade because my friend is using windows 7 and it is really great not like VISTA (hangers). He told me to download also my PC but i didn't accept that because my PC is not satisfied to their requirements and i didn't sure it is only for 1-2 months to use the windows 7. I think the purpose on that is too survey the people if they like the windows 7 before they market.
