Don't get me wrong but I'm still staying here in the Philippines, despite the chaos and adversities the country is facing. Although my family have plans of migrating to other country, I still believe it's still nice to stay here if ever we'll not be lucky enough to get our visas in the future.
How about you, what are your thoughts on still living in the Philippines? You still feel comfortable her in the country? Thanks for sharing.

Living in another country as a means of escape from whatever issues you might have had in your own country is your choice, and I fully respect that. However, what will become of our country if every Filipino thinks that way?
As I have mentioned in my previous post (in a relevant thread), you will never have the privilege of being a "first class" citizen in a foreign country, no matter how "successful" (career-wise) you might become.

I guess I'm lacking in the geography department. Is the Philippines part of Honduras or something? I confess I haven't heard any bad news about the Philippines although I read the news and watch it every day.

The Philippines is actually in South East Asia not in Central America (although Philippines was under Spanish colonization for 333 years, can you believe that?). It's a good thing that you haven't heard of any bad news about my country. It just means that the Philippine consulate in the US is doing a "good job".

I would like to know what I am missing. If I don't know what's going on and the consulate is doing a good job of whitewashing it, I am ignorant and I hate that. What is going on there that people want to leave?

I still have my hopes up. I love the Philippines and for me it's the best country in the world. It's just some of the people living in it that smears the country's name. Fortunately, we have other Filipinos who's slowly pulling up our nation's pride. I just hope these people who pulls our country down would realize the shame they're bringing to our country.

I agree with you that Philippines isbest country to live IF you have sufficient money to live, i mean if you have good job to support your family from poverty.
I and my hubby plan to retired in Philippines and raise my kids there.I love Philippines, coz it's my mother land and my family were in Philippines.
SO hard to live in different country, im in UK now, but it feels that you are working for your bills not for your family or for a living lolz.
Atleast when your in Philippines, you can still laugh and you feel happy and you can feel the freedom.
Cheers.

yeah you are correct money and stable job is what you need if you want to stay here in our country comfortably. since our government is never affected of the condition of its citizen, it is our duty rely only on our self to sustain our life here in our country.

I strongly agree with you my Man... There is no place like home. I just can't think of myself living outside the CEBU, much more leaving Philippines. I know how hard the times are right now, but then, it is a great opportunity to create something that will uplift our lives and the rest of the people, especially the poor ones... like myself.

It's very much, fascinating OK.
The Philippines is a very good country. The country may have problems, but which country does not have?
We are even blessed of not having a winter season, since having that season causes a lot of problems - Crop Problems, Transportation, and Health due to winter blues.
We may not be a super power country or a regional economic leader, but that fact simply means that the country has less stress to think about.
The country may not have as much Skyscrapers as in Hong kong or Chicago, but that fact alone tells us that who needs skyscrapers anyway? We have lands, and many other resources.
Our science may not be as progressive as in other countries, but that fact alone tells us that we are able to maintain our philosophical ideologies and does not cross the boundaries of "playing God".
There are so many things to be thankful for in this country, that is why I love to stay here.

No matter where you are in the world, it's simply "there's no place like home"... yes you can find comfort living in richer countries but you can never find the true and real meaning of happiness except in your mother country...

To be honest, even if i am back in the philippines, I still do misses UK. Everything is possible in the UK as long as I work while studying. Here, its impossible to have as no available jobs for me as a student. Although despite of these thinking, I still want to stay here because here, is where Happiness can be found (with the family), and UK is where pleasure and wealth..

I still want to live here even if life here is so hard. It still different if you are staying in your own country . I admit because of the difficulty of life here many wants to migrate for better future. The salary here is not that big compare if you work abroad.

Yes, I am still happy and contented with my life here in the Philippines. I also believe that if you cannot be successful here in the Philippines, you can never be successful even if you go to other places. I have known a few people who migrated in the other country and honestly, they still have that same standard of living. Even if they earn big, their standard of living also increases. Happy myloting and goddluck on your visa.

of course! is there any wrong to our country? for me, i rather die in the place where i was born, than to leave it in times of crisis. our heroes fight for the freedom of this country so that we can live free. that's why we should be more positive to live in our country.

I still prefer to stay here in the Philippines. In fact, it's never an option for me to stay away from it amidst all the temptations from my friends who can support me when I will work outside the country. I simply love CEBU and the Philippines in its entirety.

i think it is still ok to stay here in our country. but don't expect that our government will help you when you need something since the people running it are so busy enough to make them richer and traveling outside the country. if you don't look for a brighter future and no one is depending on you , you can stay here in our country since this country is also moving forward but very slow.
