It can deliver wireless broadband for notebooks and mobile devices in addition to Wi-Fi for expanded connectivity on the move. It operates on both licensed and non-licensed frequencies . It's a better technology than that of WiFi. It stands for Worldwide interoperability for microwave access. It provides a wide blanket of coverage over MAN size areas. MAN stands for metropolitan area network. It has full internet coverage within the network and the signal is free of interference. Its radius can be of 1/2 to 2 kilometers plus the signal is a non-line of sight, meaning it will not affect if the tower is at 33rd floor while you are connecting via WiMAX at the ground level.
