How many of you use your name as username in forums?

i have screen names that i use in different chats, and this one i am using now is what i prefer the most. i dont like using my real name online. the only place i used it is in another networking site, where many members are from my own country. i did it so that my classmates from high school and college will be able to find me when they search me there.

Most places, I am Garden Gerty, but not quite all. I do not use my real name. I think it only makes good sense. You do not know who will be stalking you.

Hi I have signed up many sites with my real name only but later I realized some sites are not good and changed my user name there and stopped visiting that site too. I have given my real in mylot and I think mylot is safe especially for ladies. Some minor incidents are reported otherwise we are happy here. I understand your concern and I prefer to give my real name in mylot only.

Hey, No I never use my real name as my username in forums. The main reason is that is you have your name as your username, it might imply what gender you are, and thus give out too much information. I also like to keep my privacy too. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

I used my real name on MySpace for the longest time, but decided that I'd be better off using another name just in case something bad happens. It felt weird using the new name at first, but I've warmed up to it now, and I like it. =D I just wish Facebook gave us the option to not use our real names and instead use something more unique, but that's life, I guess.

I feel that even if one wants to use his name, one has to prefix or suffix it with some strange numbers or phrase. Only this way, you can use your name as user name. On the other hand, it is true that if you use true name, it may be abused.
