Recently while browsing several sites, I found out that Metro Manila is considered now Beta+ Global City, by Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC). It puts us on the same breadth as washington DC, Los Angeles, Barcelona, and some other global cities.
Manila is also expected to climb to become the richest city in Southeast Asia by 2020. According to Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
What is your reaction about this? Isn't it a welcome positive development for the country? I mean my point here is that the country has sunk down to the lowest levels, not of poverty, but pessimism. Do you think this is a good time for the Filipinos to help uplift the country's pessimistic population?

Well, this is a good news to us all Filipinos, considering the fact that our capital city "Manila" has been recognized to the world. With this positive development for our country comes also high expectations and being more responsible for us to meet international standards..
I really hope our country will progress and poverty will be lessen, Hope this coming 2010 election will be able to vote the right persons on the government that will be in charge for the overall success and progress of our country.

Let's vote for the right person in 2010 so that we can have a better country that we have been dreaming for a long time. Anyway I'm happy to here that there are lots of people here that are optimistic for the country's future.

I hope that the 2010 elections will be clean and fair. I pray that Filipino voters will be wise in choosing the next leaders for our country so we can become a progressive country like the one you mentioned.

Yeah, we may not look like Washington DC in terms of landscape or anything else, but the fact that we are improving is also a great signal for our country.

That's a very good news. Let's just hope that sooner, our country Philippines breathe fresh air in terms of economy. I am very hopeful for prosperity and progress. It is wise to contribute whatever we can as a citizen to our country and not just sit and look around.
There are many things we can do as a private citizen, first we should be vigilant with our decision especially during election to carefully choose good leaders, second, we can make this country a better place to live in by making ourselves progressive in everything we do so that we can help minimized misery, taking sensible decisions in choosing career, lifestyle and getting married. Why I say these?because starting a family on the wrong financial footing will lead to disaster and therefore creating a small unit of society that will add to the increasing problem of our government.
So we try to be sensible all the time and be hopeful for the better future of our mother land.
