rated negative.....

We do not know who has rated us at all. Our star rating drops because others rate us negative but it also is affected if we abuse the rating system too. I admire those who state their opinion and rate them positive for doing so even if it might not be the same as my opinion. We are all different and have a right to our own opinion and should not be rated negative for doing so. How others rate I have no idea but the rating systen here is definately abused. Some users like the 'power' they have and misuse it. In the FAQS we are told: [i]'What if I disagree with someone? Should I give that post a negative rating? Absolutely not! In fact, if you disagree with a post, but still feel it positively contributes to the discussion, you should rate it positively. Rating quality content negatively will hurt your ratings overall. Remember differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions.'[/i] but it seems many are not aware of that and they are also unaware that abusing the rating system will cause their own rating to drop too and then their earnings will be affected as it also says: 'The DRS algorithm is very complex and will detect many forms of inappropriate ratings. Well i don't really know how the rating thing works.,......I don't agree with whatever the discussion starter has to say just because i will get positive ratings......I take mylot far more than just a reputation builder.....I say what i feel like and that is one thing that pulls me towards mylot everyday, if i were just to agree whatever the person has to say without having a healthy debate or argument then it just kills the fun.......I had about 9 star when i crossed my 100 mark and has been fluctuating ever since......i don't really care, the people who know me and follow my discussions know whats my stand, the same goes to everyone, there are so many excellent people out here with just 8 star rating, so that does not mean they are not good? definitely not !!!! I don't really rate anyone negative unless it is really negative and the person is trying to be a imposer, uses plagiarized content, disrespect towards others, etc......it mostly revolves around un-ethical behavior than the comment as a whole.... I don't think it is right to rate someone badly because they don't agree. I think that's what makes this place what it is. Differences of opinions and culture enrichs the discussions and helps us to learn how other people feel about subjects that interest us. I always rate positive unless someone is abusive. I can't remember having to do that yet either. There have been a lot of my discussions in which everyone has not agreed...but that's good. Take care.

We are supposed to rate a response positive if it contributes to discussion here. Unfortunately most people rate you negative if they disagree with you and I am sure most people forget to rate positively when needed.

i think a lot of people give out negative ratings if they don't agree with someone - i think that's a bit mean but you can hardly stop it. and if you're agreeing with a discussion starter that others don't agree with you might get marked negative too! probably best to give your honest opinion

Hello. just wanna ask, how do you know if someone gives you a negative rating? Actually,for me, i appreciate negative opinions and willing to correct my mistakes. I also don't agree in giving negative rating if one doesn't agree with other's discussion because we're just expressing our own views and opinions, and i don't see any fault or offense there. It's a free country and everyone has his/her right to express his/her thoughts, and we must respect each other's thoughts. we just have to say it properly and not in a boastful manner so that the creator of the discussion will not get offended. This is why I don't like the rating system. People seem to think it's alright to give someone else a negative rating just because they don't agree with the other person and that's NOT what it's for. It's my understanding that you give a negative rating if the person seems to be... I don't know... not following the rules or something? Maybe I'm not quite sure, but I just know it's NOT for when you disagree with someone. Usually, I just stay away from the negative ratings and only give people positive ratings. Of course, I got a one-word response to one of my discussions that just seemed so pointless and I was tempted to give them a negative rating. Why post to any discussion if all you're gonna give is a one word response? What's the point?

The ratings are mylot well kept secret. No one has any clues who rated us negatively except admin as they are the only people holding the key to the ratings of members. The ratings decide the placements of the stars for individual members. Honestly, I believe the ratings have no bearings on the quality of individual performance as humans are easily influenced by emotions and they can rate anyone negatively just to satisfy them, reasons only known to themselves. I see people who are vocals don't get good star ratings and some newcomers with less than 200 posts are already hitting the highest star rating. It is a simple calculation, the veteran mylotters who are still lagging far behind in their star ratings are people who speak their minds out and in the process have stepped on the wrong toes making them victims of negative ratings. Some people don't understand that every discussions should involve a healthy debate and agreeing to disagree does not mean that the person deserve a negative rating. It can bring out a lively discussion and an eventual answer to resolve the subject discussed. We are people of knowledge and not robots for yessing to every discussions, it will not bring a conclusive solution. Dare to face the risk of being rated negatively, speak your mind out. Look at the stars besides your name only as a decorative accessory and your responses will not be influenced. Originality in your responses, regardless of agreeing or disagreeing is what makes mylot ticks.

hii dear frind nice to meet you here..Ya for me also many members rated negative..When i was at 8 star..Mine start is going to 9 and then after 2 days it again coming to 9..And also i too just put the thoughts what i have..And also i will agree with the discussion creater..And now it is good for me and it is going down..So i am feeling happy..And also now i am trying to get the star 10..Now mine star is going increasing..And i am watching it daily..It is at 88..So i thik that with a month i will reach 10..Happy mylotting dear friend..have a nice day..

Sorry to hear that Ashadeep, i just don't know if you rated them back as negative too. I know that your rate will diminish if someone noted you negative but then when you give them back a negative rating which I don't know how the system of Mylot about it, it bounces back to you. Anyway I do hope you listen to some of our Mylot friends here who shared their opinion about rating a discussion. Further more, the information about that was already given by MysDiana. Since you are still new hear, you still have a long way to go. From getting stars to changing colors of stars and the number of rates that keeps on going up or down. But anyway you should not be dismayed. Just keep on posting what you think is your personal opinion, just don't heat up anyone here and follow the rules. I am sure that you are also doing everything to be one of the best respondent here on Mylot. Happy Mylotting.

I don't like the fact that users rate other negative. It has happened to me, and I never really worried about it, but at the same time I felt bad that users didn't think much of my responses. Lately though, I think users have felt differently as my ratings have been going up and I am glad for that. I, myself will not rate anyone negative. To me that is mean and vindictive, and just not right. It isn't in my nature to be mean and vindictive, so I don't do it. I will always rate positive, and if a response or a comment aren't quality or very good, then I won't rate them at all. It is better that way I think. No rating is better than a bunch of negatives. i have been rated negative but i dont know what response it was because i just saw my star number dropped. i didnt know who rated me negative either. i DONT rate negative just because it disagrees with my discussion or with my responses, i think it is not right to do that, rating negative just because it is not what you want to read. we should view every users opinion equally, it is a discussion anyway.

Hi, First of all there is no way of knowing who gave you negative ratings so how can you say that it's the same person it can be someone else. But it is very sad to hear that people are not understanding why exactly this rating system has been provided. It is not for rating negatively if someone disagrees, it helps in identifying the nicer response and a bad one. Well i have not used that "-" button so often. I have pressed them only when i see someone violating the rule otherwise even if the responder disagrees i do give them positive rating. Happy Mylotting.

If I do not like a discussion I just ignore it and do not respond. I have till date not given any negative rating to a discussion. I am not supposed to like all the discussions here on this site. But just because I dont like it that does not mean I should be giving it a negative rating.

I have been rated negatively by most of the members as I used to express my views very boldly in case of any dis opinion. My most of the participation which were rated negatively were about neo bux only. I feel strongly that they are well planned cheaters who are going to cheat the members with huge amount.So I used to tell the fact with proofs. But those who don't like to think about the fact used to rate me negatively. But I am not here only to earn. I will be strong in my stand always and never care about the ratings and earnings. I have made more than 300 posts so far. But as mine is very harsh against the faulty things,most of them have been deleted and it take me too reach this 100+ for more than 3 months and I have earned just $3.00 in these days.That too with the help of few tasks ,which helped me to earn about $1.20.I will use this only for offering some tasks only. Of course, because of the rating system, which affects our earnings directly in turn, most of the members are failing to express their own view and this should be avoided. Only mylot will look after this. Because of this we are not able to receive any frank opinion.

hi... i do not know if have been rated negative, when i post discussions i always invite open responses, it is a mean thing to rate someone negative just because he/she does not agree with the asker, if people started to always agree with the discussion starter then there is no meaning to post it here when you know all we agree to it, unless your response in unreasonable and you disagree with the discussion the asker has no means to rate you negative... hope you have a good day.
