I have a personal account in paypal and I have received a lot of payments in my paypal account.Paypal never charged any fees for receiving any payment.But,the last time when I received one payment I was shocked to see that paypal charged me 39 cents as fees.The fee may be less but still I want to know the reason of taking some fee.Can anyone tell me what is the reason that they are talking this fees from me?

Have you promoted to Business account? I know that personal accounts doeasn't have any fee for recieving or sending money between paypal accounts. But if your account is business type, then there is a fee something like $0.25 + %x (I don't know the amount)

Hi zhorak,thanks for your response to this discussion.Well,I have a personal account and I have not promoted to business account,so it is quite strange to me that they are suddenly charging me some fees.Anyway,thanks for your input.

Hi prajnith,can you tell me if they are charging for some transactions only or they are charging for every single payment now?

Hi prajnith,really thanks a lot for the link.I checked it out,maybe the sender of the money is sending money from a credit card.You know I send 1$ to a friend of mine and he received 1$ and no fees were charged.He then refunded the money to my account and I received back 1$ without any fees charged.

Yes, between 1.9% to 2.9% + .30 per transaction
they charge a fee for processing the request for funds and the depositing of them into your account. that's two fees.

Hi Nir360,thanks for responding to this discussion and helping me out.Well,I am not verified in paypal.Maybe that is a reason.Otherwise,some are saying that paypal occasionally takes some fee from the users as it is not entirely free service.I hope they do not take much as fees.

I do not know a lot about paypal things. But as I heard from other people who uses paypal, it sometimes does charge a few cents for the transaction made.
