it depends...I can say japan is one of the expensive place in Asia. The living standard is similar to some top europe countries.
Are you fond of japanese food? if you're just having a simple meal like a bowl of noodles, rice or few places of sushi. it's around 10-15 euro. but if you want to try some really special and fresh. it can cost much. also, would like to shop here? or buy anything special? since japan is a very fashionable place, you can spend a lots here.

Is really depends on your trip. Is it a full board trip? Meaning if 3 meals all included, then you might not need to prepare the money for food. You might need to know Japan is a shopping heaven too. Need to consider how much you want to spend the money for shopping. Moreover, you might ask for joinning some optional tour which will bring you to visit more places then the itinerary stated.
I never been to Japan before. But I think is better you prepare some usd and yen as well

my husband is in Japan right now. According to him, everything in Japan is expensive. One meal costs him around a thousand yen. There is no ideal amount for you to bring.
If you could afford to spend 3000 yen a day, then you are supposed to bring around 25,000yen as pocket money. the airfare and accomodation varies. Better check the inernet for more information.

That would depend on your currency rate to Japan Yen. If your currency rate is more, then it's no problem. It will cost a bit more during certain time like when Sakura start to bloom. Mostly lots of visitor will come during that time so the prices will rise a bit. Also use Yen and try to learn as much Japanese words as possible. It will help a lot.
