Poll Automation in 2010 Elections Finally Pushing Through

I am glad to learn that the Smartmatic and Total Information Management (TIM) have finally settled their earlier dispute on "fund control" in relation to poll automation in the 2010 elections. It is really high time that Philippines adopt a computerized system of tallying votes, provided of course that all security measures are installed in the system. With poll automation, the age-old problem of cheating and poll manipulation (prevalent in manual tallying) "should be" a thing of the past (well, at least "ideally" speaking).

Yes, it is high time that we have computerized elections. Manual voting has been a disadvantage to us, since a lot of things can happen between casting our votes and the counting of the ballots. At least with electonic election, problems would be minimized and we will have the results in a day or two. Hope this time that we are going to have a real, credible elected President of our country.

This is good news indeed if 2010 elections will be automated to minimize vote padding and cheaters I just hope that the operator of these machines will be honest in performing their duties so that the right leaders chosen by people will be elected constitutionally and hope that they will be true to their promise to be of service to the country and not serve their personal interests once they assume power.

Hi 24Champ!
I'm also glad that the disagreement between Smartmatic and TIM have totally resolved and finally settled in. Though we still don't know what automated election would bring in the 2010 election but it will surely shorten the counting process and hopefully minimized if not totally eliminated the cheating and any irregularity that always present in the manual election.
Have a nice day!

I hope this would push through already because this is an age old project that has not move on for the longest time. I just hope that the government or admin would not intervene anymore to try to tamper it and we would have a much more cleaner election this coming 2010 elections. Although the controversy has made the opposition more aggressive in trying to know what really happened between the two erring companies. I hope they could work well during the elctions and money would not be the point of disruption.

This will be my first time to vote. And I hope that the automated voting will be my first time. I was even wondering what kind of cheat will the politician can do. If this poll automation will be in action. Well, I guess we have to wait and see. I did not have a chance to vote last election. But this coming election, Hope it goes well. ^^
