I don't think that is necessary. I agree with you it is a waste of electricity and waste of our time. But some people still do it as it has become their habit and feel that it is necessary to be neat and tidy in their dressings.

lol =D I will never ever iron my knickers or socks because it's not needed at all.. After all, it's being hidden when we are wearing it, and so why should we iron it?? haha =D Other than wasting time and electricity, we are wasting our efforts as well..
PLus, socks or knickers are not known to be crumbled after washing right?? And some things feel more comfortable to let them remain in their original state rather than straightening out everything.. lol =D

NO, I don't. I agree w/u it would be a waste of time. My grandmother use to have everything ironed even bath towels. I HATED TRYING TO DRY OFF ON THEM WHEN THEY WERE FALATTENED OUT W/NO FLUFF. pOPLE USE TO IRON EVERYTHING. I iron the clothes I wear outside of the house & pillowcaes, that's about it for me.

I don't iron my knickers and my socks, I agree with you, I think it is a waste of time and electricity. I don't like to iron, and I only iron the things that I have to iron like shirts and tablecloths. Some years ago I was living in Italy, and I had a job where I had to help an elderly woman with cooking, cleaning, laundry and other household duties. I also helped her iron her clothes and she was used to ironing everything including the knickers, socks and towels. It seemed a bit strange to me because in my family we never iron those things, and my grandmothers and my great-grandmother have never ironed those things either.
