Honesty, the best policy?

Do you think your friends [or others around you] like it when you are brutally honest all the time? Or do you think that it is okay to lie a little?
What about yourselves? Do you want your friends to always be honest with you or you don't mind a little lie? This can be in reference towards any situation.

It's all in the delivery. I am 100% honest with my true friends. What are your friends if they dont tell you the truth? You do not have to tell them something dificult in a blunt and devistating manner. Just tell them like you would want someone to tell you, be gentle, but honest. I want my friends to be honest with me all the time! If I have a booger in my nose I want my friends to tell me...lol :) But seriously, if my friend knew something major that could affect my job or my relationship or anything serious I would want to know the absolute truth, no matter how difficult it was to hear.

Yes, I completely agree with you! Thanks for your response. I want my friends to be completely honest with me as well, even if it is something weird lol. It is all in the delivery. You can say the same exact thing in different ways and it will have different effects. That is something I have had to learn. I have become better about it since I have gotten older.

yeah thats the best thing
but there are many a people who fake their honesty so
a small lie may not alter the friendship
but a small lie which breaks a heart is never okay

That is true. Sometimes people don't want to hear the full truth anyway, even though they ask. If you know your friends, you know how to deal with them on a case by case basis.

well...of course still now/...honesty is best policy..though it may not b dat easy to remain honest..in fact lying..n avoiding unpleasant situations is d best way out.For me...its more important to b witty dan being stupidly or brutally honest. The fact remains u urself need to b equally honest and courageous enough to accept a naked truth..dat most ppl r unable to do.so u need to judge the person first as well as d situation pretty well before disclosing some really unpleasant truth to someone.as its well known fact dat.."A harmless lie is sometimes better than a harmful truth."
