Most of us believe in God

Even scientists who need proof for everything believe in god even though they have no scientific proof for the existence of God. Some of us may not believe in God. They have the rights to think so.
How about you? Are you a firm believer of God? If so why?
If not why?

GOD... something that we believe in.... U see the word believe means somethign u accept without proof.... if u had proof u wud say i know God not 'believ in god'. So if you want to beleive in god u have to do it without proof that is until the so called scientist can discover scientific evidence to prove the xistense of god.
Now coming to the question whether I beleive in God. No I dont believe in God because I beleive that God doesnt exist. Everyone has a right to beleiev what they want as along as they understand the reason for their belief. However I believe that there is a higher order or should I say I dont beleive in a GOD who has human form.... because GOD is all powerful having unlimited potential and he has no definition. The moment he/she can be defined it looses its unlimited natue and thus looses the essential property of God.
I believe that only GOD exist. Confused.... dont be.... its like saying that there is nothing else but God... everything is a part of GOD and nothing else...there are no trees, no stones, no humans, no animals only God. I know its confusing.
let me explain. Suppose u look at a table and cupboard hwta do you see... definetly a table and a cupboard because you can see a definition - a shape... but in reality it is just wood. Both are the same thing but you coudl percieve it differently because you saw a particular shape and a particular function associated with that object but in reality its nothing but wood.
Similarly everything is made of this universal energy which we commonly refer to as God. Its just that we see this energy confined to particular space and mass and percieve it as stones or trees or humans or animals.
But definetly these gives rise to other questions like then what about souls? Do souls exist? Answer is yes, it does... soul is like a quantum of GOD... a defined bolt of energy...which is on a journey... which in its journey experiences different forms.
I am sure this going to raise loads of doubts so please do send me your queries... I am sorry I have beguna and ended the topic abruptly but the topic is so vast I really did not knwo where to begin

Thank you for your appreciation. But I would like to thank you discussing a issue that most peopel just wanna avoid. I feel people should start realsing that all religions are like primary schools and that one needs to graduate and move above religions. Religions give guidelines but the true knowledge comes only when one moves beyond religions. people have just taken for granted many aspects of religions they blindly follow without questioning and the good or bad part of some religions is that they preach that the true believer is the one who doesnt question. Anyways, I know the spiritual awakening has already begun and it wont be long before the world realises that we need to revise our philosophies of existing religions. Some of the famous religions like Christianity and Hinduism have lost its basis as people really dont care for what the religion initally stood for. They just want to fulfill the rituals and hope for divine intervention. Which will definetly arrive as one is destined with ones own choices. we just add a perception to every event and classify is as good or bad... when it is just a event happening no tags attached that is it is neither good nor bad. but human nature we cite it as bad or good attributing it to pur previous karmas of previous lives or this life... definetly they r end products of our choices but either ways they have no tags they just r events happening.....anyways humans were designed to be that way I guess and its understanding simple occurences like this helps them make better choices and thus helps them be more divine or rather identify themselves more as apart of God.

I first thank you for the detailed response. well looks like you have read many religious books. I fully agree with you.
I believe in a supreme power, energy, you can define it as a cosmic energy-that is God. You can communicate to that super power throught quality meditation. Souls do exist.
I admire your knowledge, especially for your age.

alot of scientists don't believe in God because he/she is said to have created the world which doesn't make sense when it has been scientificly proven that the big bang is how the world was created. I'm a scientist and my beliefs about god change all the time

I do believe in big bang theory, though I am not a scientist. You also believe big bang theory because you believed the invention of the scientists. It is again a faith on scientist. Ok, I really believe in big bang theory and also the God. How/
Ok, Who created space? Or don't you believe there is a supreme power that can do wonders? It is a kind of energy we can say scientifically and to tell it religiously it is God. Nice to know you are a scientist, I always have a respect for scientists because when I was a boy I wanted to become a Oconnell, sorry scientist

I've been an atheist all my life. I wasn't brought up with any religious training or teaching, and I've never seen any reason to believe in a god or gods. By the way, there are more atheists in the scientific community than any other group.

I always admire athiests as they think originally. Religious people are made religious from childhood and that includes me.When I became an adult I started having doubts about existence of God. But after reading so many books and the teachings of the ancient sages of India I once again began to have faith in God, this time with more intensity

I believe in God that He exist. God is far too great for us to fully understand. He has no beginning and He has no end. There is no place where His presence is not felt. The Bible asks Job in Job 11:7, Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? God lives in Heaven and He rules over the whole earth. Isaiah 66:1 tells us Heaven is my throne and the earth is my foot stool.
I do believe in God because He is the creator of everything. If this is not what others believe specially the Atheist or Agnostics, i respect them, just respect mine too. Nehemiah 9:6 says " You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
Psalms 139:13 says For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." God is all Powerful, All knowing, Holy, He is a Spirit, a Loving Father. I may not force anyone here if they don't agree and believe what I do believe. I am in no way to argue anyone here also as I am just stating my own opinion and belief.

It is good to believe in God, but even the demons believe in Him, and they tremble (James 2:19). Belief in God is not the same as faith in God, as the demons also believe that God exists, and they also believe that Christ rose from the grave. But they do not willingly submit to His will. By faith I believe that God is who He says He is. The entire Christian experience is to be lived by faith, from beginning to end. We are justified by grace through faith, we are sanctified by grace through faith, and we will be glorified by grace through faith. Thank you for your time.

When I see him ,I will let you know. As you stated where is the proof ? God can be anything you choose to call god .Seeing how many versions of the bible their are. I believe in forces and energies but highly doubt there is truly a god for me to worship. I believe in the supernatural proof lies hear. Oh I might get heck for this one but oh well. Its my opinion, its very hard to believe in anything ,I have not seen with my own eyes.

I believe in the Bible, in the Bible there is God, during their time people there can talk to God. I believe in God the father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus. I do talk to God, I always ask him to take care of my family, to forgive my sins, bless me and take away the pain of what I am feeling and when I wake up in the morning I feel ok. I know God is watching that is why when we lie we have second thoughts and we ask for forgiveness. I believe in God and I love him. He love every creature he created and he always giving us the chance to change to be with him in his kingdom to have an everlasting life.

I believe in some super power that dominates our lives. It need not be the gods depicted by various religions. There is something supernatural that we have to experience by our own. So,I like to practice yoga and meditation and want to learn the truth to myself.I don't want to believe just what is told.Real experience counts.Cheers!

I don't have any solid belief in one god or another. I don't really believe in a god, but I DO believe in some kind of higher power. If that makes any sense. I hope that I'm at least a little bit spiritual in essence, but I don't like putting names on it.

Yes, I am a very strong believer in God. Nature and people, the intricate way we are put together, the well-ordered working and design of the universe, is all the proof I have ever needed that there is a divine being in charge, a creator, if you will. Such things do not happen "by the accidental banging together of two forces," or by mere evolution. If something "evolved" where were its original origins? God exists.

Yes. I do believe in God. If there's no God, then who will create all of the wonderful things around us? Those can't just sprout out of nowhere! I am a firm believer of God. I also believe that I am always saved, that I just pray to Him and He will be there. You can feel Him anywhere. My opinion is, some people don't believe in God because they feel pain, and they remain hard headed not to turn to God. So, for me God will be always there to guide me.

I don't really believe in God. My basic conscience guide us what is good and what is wrong. Believing God means that we have to do good things to people, and not explore new and broader wisdom for the common good. Believe in God or not, it is not the matter. It is base how we educate our people, and our next generation for the greater good.
