So I'm curious, How many people on here actually go out of their way to avoid high fructose corn syrup, and how many people's minds were changed about the whole thing by the sweet surprise campaign, and how many honestly don't care?
(Personally I'm in the "We avoid it" group, but I don't kill myself trying to avoid it, somethings its nearly impossible to get without HFCS, like ketchup, but we get the ketchup anyway :P that kinda thing)

I avoid it when at all possible, but I believe there are things more damaging than an little high fructose corn syrup. I read labels and avoid the things that I know threaten me personally. I think everyone should know certain foods and additives effect the body and avoid the ones that threaten them personally depending on their health issues.
It's my personal belief that the sweet surprise campaign was designed to divert corn from the food industry to the bio fuel industry and had nothing to do with concern for health in this country. If health was a concern there would be a huge drive to remove non food additives that saturate our food products.

I am pretty well in your group! I try to avoid it but don't worry too much if I get stuck with it in some things! I do read all the labels and there are some things I worry about avoiding more than high fructose corn syrup!
