Zoloft went generic in about 2006. When it switched my mail-order pharmacy automatically switched me to generic. And I become so depressed and my moods got way out of control. It felt like I hadn't been taking my Zoloft at all, even though I was swallowing the generic version every morning. I went to my therapist, and we put down that brand was medically necessary. My pills were switched out, and I went back to normal.
Well, fast forward to 2009, and now my mail-order pharmacy requires me to pay the difference if I refused to take the generic, regardless of medical necessity. Basically they wanted about $300 for a 3 month supply. So I went back to my therapist and we had to make the switch. I was taking 100 mg of Zoloft, and I'm now up to 137.5 mg of generic Zoloft. And I may not be done adjusting the dosage. And what's worse, I may need to add another drug back into my regimen, because it doesn't seem to be able to stabilize my mood as well.
Has anyone else had similar problems when switching from Zoloft to the generic version? Dosage changes, side effects, doesn't work at all?

I took generic Zoloft ever since I started on this brand.. at first it made me become depressed. Never took the real brand.. the feeling lasted for several months or so. I guess I have to say it never really worked for me at first, but now after about 2.5 years, it felt better.
