Hiya, I'm going to be getting a new computer sometime soon. (Hopefully in the next six months.) I was wondering about what brands you like. I am pretty positive I'm going to get a Dell, but I am always up for suggestions. Only thing I would say is I don't want another Gateway. Thanks!

I have had a lot of luck with Hewlett Packard. I feel that their brand is very reliable. When I buy a computer, I want it to last a long time. And Hewlett Packard has done that for me. I have dealt with Dell in a job where I used to work. And I have nothing bad to say about them. I wish you luck in deciding which type of computer laptop to purchase. And have a great day here on myLot in the meantime.

Thanks! My aunt really likes her HP. Her only issue is that her cord keeps breaking. She's bought maybe 3 in the last year.

I suggest toshiba or dell. Dell is pretty good get pre installed ubuntu linux. Toshiba is good too. It's good. I suggest that you use linux on your laptop though. It will make it run faster go here to find more http://www.computersight.com/Operating-systems/Linux/Advantages-and-Disadvantages-of-Linux.831351 Never get Gateway. You can also get an HP but they are only good for PC's.

I really loved my old gateway desktop. But the laptop just isn't the best. My gw desktop though is still running despite it being almost 20 years old. Still could run if I used it. I mean it has like 20 gb memory and maybe 512ram. That's without anything on it! Ha. Most of my family has Toshibas. It's really between Toshibas, or Dells.
