Here in the United States on July 4th we will be celebrating our Independence Day. The tradition is to shoot off fireworks at night. The fireworks are nice to look at but they tend to cause problems (fire, burns) and scare animals, if used by inexperienced people. I hope everyone will be careful and cautious and that no fires are started. Fires can easily get out of control and can easily ause major burns. Please everyone be careful how you use these fireworks and be safe tomorrow.

Well said. We live in an area where shooting fireworks off is illegal. It happens anyway until the person is caught. Our daughter lives in an area where they are legal, about 20 min. from our house. It's been storming today so I can see all the fun times going right in the toilet today.
True story: I was at a park with my mom and some friends when a kid. A friend of the family threw a cherry bomb. I paniced and ran into a tree. Knocked myslf out and my mother took me home. The boy who threw the cherry bomb, blew a hole in his chest. He survived the accident after a hospital stay. I will never forget that happening and to this day, I am so scared of fireworks unless they are shot off by someone with skills at a public park or over a river. To be at someone's house where several are shooting fireworks, I am a basket case.

The non sequitur daily comic strip for today shows a man reading inscriptions in the Last Words Cemetery... One says "How hard can it be to make your own fireworks?"
