I Hate Shopping! Plain and simple! I don't care what it is for, whether it be clothes, groceries, household items, Whatever! I do Not want to do it! In fact I don't even want to talk about doing it or think about doing it so needless to say I will be happy when I finish posting this discussion!!
Some of my friends agree with me that shopping to us is for the birds but there are many out there that will probably not understand this dilemma that I have about shopping as I am a woman and all women are suppose to like shopping, but trust me, we don't...not all of us at least!
And what irritates me even More about shopping is that I am always in such a hurry to finish the shopping that I will Invariably forget something and end up having to go back for it! Making it twice as bad of course!
Take this morning for example, I waited as long as I could and went grocery shopping this morning or else the stores will be closed tomorrow and if I run out of something I will have to wait until Monday to get it.
So I get all the way to the store, finally finish, get in the car, come home and I was not home 5 minutes unpacking the groceries, (another job I do not like but it is Better than the shopping itself!), and I find, sure enough, I had forgotten something that I had to have!
So what happens? I have to get back in the car, go to the store, fight the crowds, now as everyone and their pet is in the store, finally get through the check-out stand and return home...thus wasting another hour of my life in the much hated grocery store!!
How about you? Do you hate shopping as much as I do or are you one of THOSE WEIRDOS that enjoy shopping? And how about amnesia? Do any of you suffer amnesia when you go shopping and always forget something even if you have a list...because you forgot to put it on the list! Or do you always manage to get everything that you need the very first time out??
By the way, I might hate shopping and talking about shopping but I do Not Mind Responding to your responses on this very important discussion!! So come on, don't be shy! Tell me what you Really think about shopping!!

Shopping drives me cuckoo, abssolute cuckoo especially in the heat! I can't bear it, I don't do crowds anyhow, I have anxiety issues as well as having little or no patience, I do have a solution that works, I go food shopping in the evening on a Saturday, it's wonderful there are only about five or six customers max at that time around 8pm, I can glide around with my trolley have the aisles to myself, it's a true pleasure to shop, the car park is free at that time also and I can be done in less than thirty minutes and my weekly shopping done! When I go to the checkout the girls are waiting for ME, yes ME, no queues, no hassles, no trolley rage, no losing your cool. I think I have mastered shopping. I do try to shop on line if I can but with clothes it's difficult so I tend to make my clothes last!!!!

Hi Wolfie! Well it does seem that you have your weekly grocery shopping down to a tee I must say! I am very proud of you that you are able to do this. I agree with you when you go shopping and it is not very busy, even though I don't like to shop, it is certainly better than having to deal with all of the crowds!!!
I also agree shopping for clothes Online is difficult for me also because I always find that I never wear the same size! It's all according to the manufacture and each one seems to have their own sizes and not standard sizes so I end up having to do clothes shopping in person...I try not to have to go out very often for that and I also have some clothes that I have had for a long time!!
Thank you for responding!

I don't hate shopping , i just don't like to do it. It is sure not on one of my favorite thing to do unless it is absolutely necessary. i used to wait till the last moment before i will spend my time to the shop or mall to do my shopping like buying gift, clothing or shoes for myself. I am curious some people can go from one shop to another for several hours in order to buy a piece of clothing or cosmetic , it sure need plenty of patient and enthusiasm on the part of people to be able to do that, i really admire them.

Hi Lampar! Good to see you!
I'm curious about those people also that can just go from store to store all of the time to find just one item! They must be patient and enthusiastic, not only that, I can not believe the stamina that they have to keep going on and on! I certainly do not have that much energy any more!!
Thanks so much for your response!

My mom was one who hated shopping and when she absolutely had to go into a store, she went in, got what she needed and got out. My Dad can spend all day shopping. So can my mother-in-law. I'm somewhere in between. I will go in and only look at things I'm interested in, but it's not necessarily a quick in and out. Depends on the kind of store and what I see. But all day? Nope.

Hi Dawnald!
I am like you in that respect if I am going for a specific thing that I want then I will spend the time, (like you, not all day though), to look around and get just what I want because I know if I don't get just what I want then I will only end up going back to the store to return it and starting all over again!!
I never in my life could understand some people that will go into a store for one thing and then have to look at everything else in the store that is not even remotely related to what they want!! But to each their own as they say!!
Thanks very much for responding!

Hey greenie,
I feel your pain. I'm with you on the shopping. Grocery shopping isn't the worst for me but I almost without exception forget the one item that started the trip for me in the first place. And it is usually at the top of my list. I even scratch off each item as I pick them up. My Spinal Stenosis has gotten so bad that I can't walk through the store anymore so I have to ride one of those electric carts.
My twin is a shopaholic. I would say she does some kind of shopping 6 out 0 7 days a week. She also does shopping on the phone. Now I have to admit I do like to shop online. That's it for me. Hugssss

Hi misery, nice to be in such good company. You must try doing more online shopping. If you buy from the same stores then you can usually get the right sizes down pat. Since we are in such financial straits, it's been ages since I've done any online shopping. Sure could use a few things. Maybe someday again. Hugssss

Thanks Leenie and I feel like I am in good company also with you!
I never thought about it but you are right of course, if you shop at the same stores you should be able to get the sizes down pat...I will try buying more online when I actually want something as I know it will be a much better experience for me.
Thanks! Hugzz! GEL!!

You are hilarious! Did it ever occur to you to make a list before you go out shopping? I have simplified my shopping by doing it online whenever possible.

If you think that I was hilarious before then you are going to die laughing over this one!
YES! I Do make a list of the items that I need and you know what normally happens? I get to the store and find that I have forgotten the list at home!!!!! Either That, Or, I remember something to put on the list when I am in the shower or something and think to myself:
"Now don't forget to add that to the list when you are finished here"...
Of course by the time I am finished I get amnesia and I forget to add it!!!

Ok, I can't really laugh at you on this one because I will drive all the way to the store and find I have left the list in the car!

YOU may not be able to laugh at Me because I forget My grocery list at home but I am not as kind of person as you are so I Can laugh at You!!
It's good to know that you are as bad as I am in that respect! The only good part about you leaving yours in the car is that you don't have so far to go back for it!!
Thanks for the laugh Canellita and hope you are having a great 4th of July week-end!

You are definitely not alone Pinkbunnikez, millions are just like you! I have to admit my closets and drawers are bulging with clothes also. I go shopping twice a year, unless it is for a special occasion, and when I do go in the Spring and Fall I buy everything in site to see me through the next two seasons so I don't have to go back!
Thank you for your response!

Grocery shopping? I absolutely love it! I actually like running shopping errands for my mother and my father used to bring me to the grocery a lot to help him make sure that he got everything that my mom needed. I think groceries are fun places to be. The only thing I hate about groceries are long lines to the counter. In that case, I would leave my father while he lines up while I scout for more stuff around.
I don't necessarily buy a lot. I just like looking at the products and gawking at the new ones. I also often read the Nutrition labels and some people are quite shocked when I know how fatty something is and how healthy some are -- that's what I usually read about so I'd know which stuff to buy more of and which stuff to avoid (I'm pretty diet conscious).
Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

The crowds and long lines are what I hate most in the stores...especially grocery stores. If they would close a store down just for a little while so I could go shopping and get checked out alone then I Might change my mind about how much I hate shopping!
