How to get More Responses in discussions?!

Hey, folks!
How to get more responses? I just wonder, because sometimes I surf discussion page and see that there are discussions about philosophy or other complicated discussions and there are lot of responses, but in next day i see that people just skip that discussions... Also i don't understand why sometimes for example, discussions like
- What is your favorite color, there are about 80-100 responses, but after some time, similar discussion - What's your favorite day of the week, have almost nothing...
Of course - What's your favorite day..., that discussion is repeating, but discussion about color, i think there were about 100 of that type discussions!
Please give some advice, what's the secret of user activity here!

Being original will work.
An interesting topic with an interesting original title which will attract people to read. A thoughtful start to your discussion, not necessarily long but showing your thoughts on the matter to be discussed. A topic where there is an answer rather than something to discuss will not gain you many responses and if it is a repeat will probably be deleted eventually.
Also when you receive responses, comment back to them and go and respond on a discussion by those who respond on yours. Then they will probably come back the next time if your is original.
It takes time but eventually you will have a dicussion topic which will receive lots of responses too and if you notice who is responding on yours and you do the same for them it will help.

Hey! I think and try to do the same, but i don't know , is - ''What color is your favorite'' original title and discussion? 
, I saw that there were about 80 responses!!! Maybe I must just make some ''experiments'', try to be creative!

Your English is not bad at all!
Please be aware that it is not necessary to start new dicussions here to earn Starting them just for the sake of it, as those with the topics you mention will find out, is a waste of time as they eventually (not immediately always) get deleted.
Look at 'top' and 'hot' discussions or go through the profiles of your friends to see what sort of discussions gain lots of responses and just spend some time responding rather than starting new ones. While responding, when you are not thinking about a topic, maybe one will arise

Thank you for your advice! I think that's no necessary to double and make discussions like favorite color, favorite food, because actually they aren't discussions, they are just like quiz or something like that!
