For girls: When was the time you had your first menstruation?

I first had my menstruation when I was in grade 6.. It was October 27 (sorry but I can't remember what year) and it was my crush's birthday heheh =D we have the so-called extra-curricular activity that time and my crush was one of the players in the basketball team and we are cheering their group hahah =D I was surprised when I found out I had menstruation.. I felt very excited because that means I'm a certified woman =D hahah.. But now that I'm old I don't like the idea of having menstruation because of pre-menstrual syndrome and many other worst symptoms like bruises and dysmenorrhea..
How about you? What were your experiences when you had your first menstruation?

I had my first period when I was in grade 4.it's very early,I know.I found out about it when I was taking a bath.I was shocked to see blood stains in my underwear.I actually got scared.later,my aunts and cousins started teasing me.they said I could already have a bf,I'm a woman already.

I was 13 when I had my first period. It happened during the Easter holidays, and the day when I got my first period we were going to have lunch at a restaurant. We were many people that day: My parents, my grandmother and grandfather, my aunt and my uncle, my cousins and their wives, my cousin's children etc. My mother knew that I had just gotten my first period, and I was afraid that she would tell the others about it, because I was embarrassed, and I didn't want my family to know about it

My first menstration was at the age of 13 years old during my 1st year in high school.I act really strange because I'm not expecting it will flow like that. I was shocked I thought it has a wound. Because it's just a small spots and no contineuos flowing. Im so shy to approach it to my mom. The next day I noticed the spots was getting bigger. So I was alarmed. Then it is the time I approach my mom if what is that. Then my mom said. I already experiencing my first menstration.
