Dhoni should have given his gloves to Dinesh karthik.

hi friends.i felt right from the start of the tournament when i came to know karthik is playing,Dhoni should have made him the wicket keeper.
[b]my reasons:
Dhoni has been suffering from back pain for a long time now and i noticed during and after the world cup,he is using his pads to stop the ball from fielder rather than bending down and catching it with his gloves.he even hurt his ankles during the second ODI.btw did anyone notice that he had already strapped his ankles before he injured it.is he hiding another injury?
he pulled off one of his best catch ever yesterday of Bravo.have to appreciate that .but he must know that eventhough karthik played well so far in this series,he will be out of the squad when the others return so why not use this time to lift his burdens slightly?he should have done it since the first ODI.i hope atleast he will do it on sunday.[/b]

Kartik is not a good enough keeper and is known to make mistakes behind the stumps. As it is the team is under pressure after the loss in the t20 world cup. Even dhoni will not make such a big gamble. And as you have said kartik will have to make way for sehwag and tendulkar when they come back it is even more necessary for dhoni to stay sharp behind the wickets as he has to keep wickets in the champions trophy too. Making kartik the wicket keeper for a few matches does not make sense.

geez wish u have conveyed this piece of news to the delhi daredevils team manager and owners so they would have chosen devilliers to keep wickets instead of dinesh karthick.cmon they even had dilshan .give him only one chance to play a test match in a spinner paradise against the likes of kumble and bhajji and u expect a player who didnt play any international match for over a year to keep well.btw dhoni is not an angel behind the wickets either.i thought of this because i can see that dhoni is having trouble behind wickets lately and felt its a good move.thanks for the comments though it was useless as u just repeated what i said in the discussion with adding negatives.

i think dhoni have done a right job....he has good efficiency in keeping...and also have efficiency to lead the team while keeping....i hope you saw the catch of bravo in 3rd ODI....it was just amazing....DO you think karthick can????i think dhoni is better than karthick.....:)

yes i also think that he was suffering a lot because of keeping, the pressure and all and so i think it is better if he can get off the gloves for sometime and concentrate on batting and captaincy. i think we need him more for those. kartik is a good keeper and also a batsman and that can make a good choice. but yes i know we will be short of a bowler if we play kartik also. but then sometimes you need to think out of the box.

It might be because Dhoni dont have faith in an inexperienced player against a dangerous side like west indies. But I think Kartik is also a good player as shown by him in IPL

no i don't think he should give gloves to karthick....he failed miserably when given gloves under dhoni's abcense in srilanka ,where extras conceived is above 50 in 1 innings...moreover dhoni is improving a lot with his gloves,expecialy the stumping and run outs....as ganguly said,dhoni able to make fast judgments, as he is able to view full ground behind the stumps....so its better he continues as skiper with gloves..

Friends, I feel that Dhoni is a better captain because of his role as a wicket-keeper.I say this because its easier for him to decide the bowlers and field setting for a batsman because he has got the closest observation of the batsman.He has also improved his keeping abilities over the period.For the meantime, considering his injuries and 'THE FATIGUE' factor he might have given gloves to Karthik but captain's decision is final. I hope he might hand over the gloves to Karthik on Sunday.
