Well I was new here in Manila. And everyday, I walk on an overpass. The overpass I am always crossing is the one near the Puregold Sta. Mesa. Before, I got very nervous each time that I cross the overpass there especially that I always go home at around 8pm in the evening. But right now, after 3 weeks here, my nervousness got lessen.

I would never cross any of those lovely overpass bridges our great MMDA chairman has constructed all over the Metro. Not only do I fear for my life because I might get mugged, but the structure itself makes me fear for my life. It's always wobbly and the side railings are low. Well to me it is because I am quite tall. I remember a few weeks ago where I had already climbed up the newly built overpass bridge in Quezon Ave, when I looked at the distance I had to cover going across, I went down and just took a cab. I guess as long as those bridges look and feel unstable, I will never cross one ever again!

I used to used that overpass several years ago. My sister used to lived in that area before they left for abroad. There is something in that overpass that really is scary but fortunately nothing bad happened to me when I used to visit my sister's house there. I even used that when I go back home in the wee hours at night. I haven't hard anything bad happening in that area during those days. Although there is no light at the middle of the overpass during those times I have not met anyone that harmed me and I always am able to cross that areas safely.

We should be careful when passing through an overp - Especially at night, and when there's no one around, don't ... I mean for one's own safety, it would be best to avoid the overpass at night and when there are no other people passing through...it would encourage muggers, drug crazed people, hold uppers, even rapists to pounce upon their prey at the first opportunity...
I understand the fear especially when you're alone and the area is dim and without so many people. Here are some tips for you...never use it when alone, or when there are no other pedestrians. Who knows there are rapist, holduppers, muggers lurking around, ready to pounce on innocent victims. Second, never carry anything of value such as big cash or jewelries, etc. Better still, look for a colleague who can accompany you, especially the one who goes home in the same direction as you. These days, we can never be sure of our safety. There are a lot of underground characters in the metropolis, hence the need to be extra careful. Good luck, keep safe.

Allenbucks, pardon me, but you already posted this same question a few weeks ago (as I can recall). Why do you need to start the same topic again?

depends on where the overpass is situated.overpasses that are dark and unpopulated are scary.someone might hold up you on those parts.overpasses located in an area where there are lots of people crossing and are lit up are fine with me.it's easy to cry for help if someone harass you.

No I am not nervous, or if I am nervous it is because I am afraid of heights. Other than that, not at all, because most of the overpass that I pass through are well lit.

It depends on the location of the overpass because there are overpass that are well-lit and some who are too dark to see if there are rugby boys.
