I have yet to download this and really not sure if I should. Most of the time, there's always bugs or problems with any new released browser. Has anyone downloaded this program and use it? What do you think? Do you like it and is it worth the upgrade from IE 7? I would really like to hear the good and bad features of this update and if you like it yourself. I think by not upgrading, I'm being prevented from doing certain things online for this reason. I just worry about it though, for I've had problems updating before. Is this a big program and take up alot of space, seeming I'm using a laptop with limited space. Thanks and Happy 4th to All!!!!!!

Upgrading to IE isn't upgrading. Upgrade to Firefox :)

The browser was released on March 19, 2009 for Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.[1] Both 32-bit and 64-bit builds are available.According to Microsoft, security, ease of use, and improvements in RSS, Cascading Style Sheets, and Ajax support were its priorities for Internet Explorer. The disadvantage of IE 8, comparing with firefox is it took much of cpu usage than mozilla firefox. I read in a forum. In Dell OptiPlex 745 (Core 2 Duo @ 2.66GHz) Vista/XP test bed with 2GB of RAM, IE 8 consumed just under 380MB of memory during a 10-site, multi-tab browsing scenario of popular general media, technical media and humor-related Web destinations (see bottom of this article for a list of sites). By contrast, IE 7 consumed just under 250MB rendering this same workload, while Firefox 3.01 put both IE versions to shame by completing the same browsing scenario in just 159MB of RAM. The story gets worse for IE 8 when you examine the number of threads spawned to complete the scenarios. Under Firefox, the count never exceed 29 concurrent threads. IE 7 spawned a hefty 65 execution threads, while IE 8 tried to choke the life out of the CPU with a massive 171 concurrent threads.

It really depends on which operating system you are using. I am using Internet Explorer 8 on Windows Vista and also Windows 7 RC, and I have encountered no problems at all. However, if you are using Windows XP then it may be a different story. Internet Explorer 8 was designed for Windows Vista and is therefore suitable, whereas the version for Windows XP is amended to suit the operating system and would not be a good idea.

Internet Explorer 8 takes up 11.07MB on my computer. Hardly a lot of room! I think that it is great! I really like it. I have been using it for at least 3 months and have never had a problem with it at all! I know many people who use it and have not heard any complaints at all! I think that it is great, it makes history a bit easier to manage as well! I recommend using it! You aren't being prevented from certain things online for not having it, at least not yet.
