So far the books printed in the world will be kept in one library. This high ambitious plan has been named as "Open Library". For each book there will be a web page of this online library. This open library will work as a part of Sanfransisco based Internet Archive. The online Guardian says,in the meantime the workers of this organization have completed a catalog of 203 million books. Other than this one million books which are out of copy right have been collected by online.Like Wikipedia the readers will get scope to add comments and information about any book.In real sense it will be a open library said the organizers.

Wow, and I thought that Oxford and Cambridge universities each having (and being required to do so by law) a copy of every book in the UK was an impressive feat…

I hadn't heard about that before, but it sounds interesting. It also sounds like a really ambitious project! I like the idea of creating a huge library like that. It would be very interesting to search among all those books. I love books and libraries, I can spend several hours at my local library, and I always borrow more books than I can read

Very interesting idea. I think it will encourage a lot of people to read and sneak out more knowledge. I wonder how much it will cost to access.

I think that is awesome, but it is a great feat! Nearly or totally impossible! For instance, what about all the self-published books? I have recently put two new study guides up on my site that I don't know how they would find! I also am working on several other projects that may be ebooks later. I can see how they could eventually find them by the registered copyrights.. but that's an enormous task! Do you think they can ever acheive it?

This would be a great idea, but how long will it take to complete? And with language barriers, would there be a way like Wiki to select your language? This could take years to complete if that is the case, and even then you can't possible select every language in the world. Great idea though. It would be an awesome tool for students. Save alot of money for english classes and such :)
