When it comes to choosing a mate, Do opposites really do attract?

According to a Brazilian study that found people are subconsciously more likely to choose a parner whose genetic make-up is diffrent to their own.

I do think opposites attract, perhaps because we each seek in someone else some strengths that may be lacking in ourself. But, I've discovered that if two people are much opposite, it becomes hard for them to live together as time goes on. Having enough important things in common is vital! Karen

I don't think opposites attract, because then people would be attracted to tigers, lams, and crocodiles, not other people. when it comes to personality it's best if people are alike. as for genetics, usually women with lighter hair prefer men with darker hair and vice versa, so in that respect maybe yes.
