I have loved to draw things since I was a child. I still take my sketch book along when I go to parks, or the lake. One of my favorite things to sketch is trees of all types. I also love to draw flowers, peoples, and buildings.
Do you like to draw? What are your favorite things to draw?Karen

This coincides with my recent discussion about doodling. I am highly into it Karen since childhood. I love to sketch trees, landscapes, scenery, if not portraits. I have always loved it. My fingers are always moving on paper while talking or while watching anything, whenever I am in recluse.
So, the other side of my dear friend is revealed. i would like to hear more about your talent. Do share more for I just cannot get enough of you.
Love and hugs.

Thanks Karen. So, I am not alone. Many times I think that this is not normal. But I get that many are like me. So, you keep doodling and so will I.

I like to draw fantasy, super heroes really get a hold on me. before I did not know how sketching is important. Now, I just can't live without. Specially, when we are working on ideas that we are not so sure if they will work all not. By sketching we save time and we can change things easy. I also take my little sketch book when I go to the part or in any holiday I have and once the opportunity comes I draw whatever interests me.

Hello Ann. Your drawing does provide a service, though lol. Flowers are fun to draw...I still love doing them. And yes, they make an excellent subject.

Hi Ann. Please pardon the late response. I somehow missed your question. Yes, I have done drawings on the computer, and you're right...it is a lot of fun! Have you tried it?

Hi Saki. For me, nature and landscapes are also a favorite to draw or paint. I find it a challenge to make them "look right," but in art, impressionism also works for me.

Hello Dephie. You're right, this kind of pencil drawing can be such fun...so many things to do with facial expressions. I appreciate you sharing your tastes in art.

I love drawing trees myself, there's something addictive in the whorls of the knobs, uneven lines of the bark and sweeping limbs of the trees. Landscapes and nature in general is always fun to draw. I also draw people, especially faces, although I like to try and capture just the form when I come across one that really interests me. I draw surrealism too, though not as often as the others. I like take normally ridged objects and adding life to them.

hello happy...you love variety then, as do I. my daughter and i have always loved to draw trees and experiment with the shapes and shadings. she makes them with such beautiful detail. i think i will try your idea of adding life to rigid objects. sounds like a fun challenge!

Hi Karen!
It means you are an artist. I love to sketch, though I am not good at it. When a pen/pencil and paper is with me, I love to draw sketches. I would either draw flowers or bunch of flowers or I would draw sketches of faces of people around me.........LOL! It is a real fun activity to draw faces of others.

Hi Deepak. I think any kind of drawing is a fun way to pass time or express oneself. It only matters that we love it. Yes, faces are a fun challenge. :)

The "hint" or impression of a thing is sometimes all that is needed to make an excellent and interesting drawing :)

hi elic...horses are a challenge, with all their grace, and getting the "muscles" to look just right. I do best to draw the heads, for I have trouble getting the body proportions correct.

Mostly people but I am terrible with faces. I also do a lot of still lifes and I have drawn out several different people's tattoos....I'm working on one for my aunt right now.

Hello Crimsonladybug. What a nice name, very vivid! I like it.
Drawing/designing tattoos, now that sounds like fun. The only one I've ever done is the small one I got for myself years ago. It still looks like brand new, though. Perhaps someday you'll be a full-fledged tattoo artist :)
Keep on drawing!

I used to be big on drawing trees and flowers when I was a kid! I hardly ever draw now unless it is a rough sketch for a design idea I want to remember later. I just don't have the time to really spend at it the way I would like. Did you see my helium article on drawing?

I love to draw anything under the sun - but the subject generally depends on my mood and emotional condition.
I recently joined an online artist blog (www.ratemydrawings.com) and love being there (other than mylot of course). It is great to see so many drawings and every member has a unique way to communicate his/her drawing. I've turned out to be an "e" person and love to draw and post my drawings online. (See i save paper - ok ok i'm not snobbing) - LOL :)

Hi Chiodos. Hands fascinate me, as well. I think they reveal as much about a person as the eyes do. They are something I practice drawing often as I've always had trouble making them look quite right. Thank you for you input, and have a great evening.

Hello Mukboh. I am sorry you've not had much time lately to draw...perhaps soon. Like you, I enjoy drawing faces, and find it a good challenge to make the eyes "match" properly. I love to go back in my sketchbook and add details here and there later to improve a drawing. Thank you for responding.

I like to sketch objects using black and white only. It feels classical when creating shadows and light. Sometimes the picture is similar to a picture snapped by an old camera. :D

I also love doing sketches this way. And I still have a great love for old, slightly yellowed photos, or for the trend leaning once again toward black and white photos these days. Such stark and lovely contrast, and then the subtle shades of difference. Very appealing to the eye.

I used to like to draw and sketch and paint and even try clay sculptures but I don't seem to have the time anymore to do these things. I don't know if I was any good but I think I had an inventive way of drawing things from my imagination and that was the extent of my artistic talent... perhaps someday I will get back to drawing -- -- maybe when I retire :-)

I have been an artist since I was in jr. high. I designed all kinds of things for school plays, music shows, the yearbook, everything. I have had my art in shows. My mom was a great Artist in Ft. Lauderdale and her art work hangs in some of the galleries in Miami! I love to do pencil sketches. If you give me you email address in my PM I will send you photos of my stuff. That is if you want to see it. I do all kinds. Animals mostly.

I love drawing people faces. They can be portraits, cartoons or anime. As long as is people I really enjoy drawing. But sometimes I think I've drawn a lot of faces and I should go on with other things such as backgrounds or objects
It's just that I think expressions are beautiful.

Hello Kotee...I love to draw faces, too, of all kinds. It is fun to experiment...to see how real or how odd or different we can make them look.
Thank you for sharing your preference.

Hi Peaceful.. I love arts, drawing, and calligraphy. I used to draw with water colour and oil paint to draw people before I switch to caricature. Caricature satisfies me more in capturing people with all their worlds. Political caricature is my favorite..you know..picturing people's intrigues...lol... But I do it only in my leisure time.

I love arts and drawings. I used to draw with pastel, water color, and oil paint, as well as making calligraphy, before I switched to caricature. Caricature satisfies me more in capturing people's character. I prefer political caricatures. I do it in my leisure time.
